  • Patent number: 9163866
Abstract: A system pressure actuated charge compensator for use with a heat pump having a liquid service valve and a vapor service valve. The charge compensator comprises a holding tank having first and second ports, a first pressure tap coupled to the first port and removeably coupleable to the vapor service valve, and a second pressure tap coupled to the second port and removeably coupleable to the liquid service valve. A heat pump system and a method of manufacturing a charge compensator are also provided.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 30, 2006
Date of Patent: October 20, 2015
    Assignee: Lennox Industries Inc.
Inventors: Paul K. Buckley, Pete J. Den Boer, Robert B. Noll

  • Patent number: 6454011
Abstract: A method and system are disclosed for moving equipment into and through a conduit that is preferably an oil and/or gas production well, wherein use is made of an uphole equipment storage and handling unit via which equipment modules can be moved into a launch conduit and connected to a shuttle device which is able to locomote itself as a wireless tractor via the launch conduit into and from the underlying conduit.

  • Patent number: 6241028
Abstract: A method and system for measuring data in a fluid transportation conduit, such as a well for the production of oil and/or gas. The system employs one or more miniature sensing devices which comprise sensing equipment that is contained in a preferably spherical nut-shell which has an outer width which is smaller than the internal width of the conduit. One or more sensing devices are released sequentially in the conduit and are induced to move in longitudinal direction through the conduit to measure data at desired intervals of time, without requiring a complex infrastructure.

  • Patent number: 5287752
Abstract: A device and method for measuring multiphase flow in a pipeline with an electric measurement system which includes a plurality of capacitors, which capacitors are formed of at least two plates of non-conducting material, each plate being provided with an array of electrodes. The plates are arranged in the interior of the pipeline and extend substantially parallel in the longitudinal direction thereof. The liquid and gas flowrates are gauged by continuously measuring both the velocity and cross-sectional area of the pipeline occupied by each phase.

  • Patent number: 4661529
Abstract: Isocyanate-derived foams are prepared from an isocyanate, catalyst, blowing agent, foam stabilizing surfactant and at least two active hydrogen-containing compounds wherein one of the active hydrogen-containing compounds is an alkylene oxide polymer having an equivalent of at least 300 and being composed of at least about 10 weight percent, based on a total weight of the polymerized alkylene oxide in the polymer, of a polymerized ethylene oxide.
