  • Patent number: 11612731
Abstract: Quick disconnect fluid coupling devices described herein. The fluid couplings are configured for use in fluid systems for the purpose of providing a low-spill quick disconnect coupling. The fluid couplings include portions that are pivotable in relation to each other to open and close a fluid pathway through the fluid couplings. Particular embodiments of these fluid coupling can be configured to improve medical fluid handling equipment because the fluid coupling devices can be connected and disconnected (e.g., multiple times) while minimizing fluid spillage.

  • Patent number: 11614491
Abstract: System, methods, and other embodiments described herein relate to improving the cycling of batteries by using data and a hierarchical Bayesian model (HBM) for predicting the cycle life of a cycling protocol. In one embodiment, a method includes classifying cycle life of a battery into a class using battery data from cycling with a protocol, wherein the class represents cycle life distributions of cycling protocols. The method also includes quantifying, using the class in a HBM, variability for the battery induced by the protocol. The method also includes predicting, using the HBM, an adjusted cycle life for the protocol according to the variability. The method also includes communicating the adjusted cycle life to operate the battery.

  • Patent number: 11583553
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention relate to methods for preparing high optical density solutions of nanoparticle, such as nanoplates, silver nanoplates or silver platelet nanoparticles, and to the solutions and substrates prepared by the methods. The process can include the addition of stabilizing agents (e.g., chemical or biological agents bound or otherwise linked to the nanoparticle surface) that stabilize the nanoparticle before, during, and/or after concentration, thereby allowing for the production of a stable, high optical density solution of silver nanoplates. The process can also include increasing the concentration of silver nanoplates within the solution, and thus increasing the solution optical density.

  • Publication number: 20230052717
Abstract: Autonomous vehicles may be dynamically directed to rendezvous with autonomous vehicle trains or convoys. Current location and/or route information of the Autonomous Vehicle Train (AVT) may be received by an autonomous vehicle. The autonomous vehicle may compare its current location and/or route information to determine a rendezvous point with the AVT. The autonomous vehicle may route itself to the rendezvous point with the AVT. Once there, the autonomous vehicle may verify the identification of the AVT, such as by using sensors/cameras to verifying a lead vehicle of the AVT (e.g., by verifying make/model, color, and/or license plate). The autonomous vehicle and lead vehicle may communicate to allow the autonomous vehicle to join the AVT. A minimum level of autonomous vehicle functionality may be verified prior to the autonomous vehicle being allowed to join the AVT. As a result, vehicle traffic flow and travel experience by passengers may be enhanced.

  • Publication number: 20230049687
Abstract: Systems and methods for shaped single carrier orthogonal frequency division multiplexing with low peak to average power ratio. The system receives an input signal and modulates the input signal to form Dirichlet kernels in a time domain to generate an offset Dirichlet kernel output time array where each Dirichlet kernel has a main lobe and a plurality of side lobes. The system modulates the input signal by receiving the input signal by an N-point time input array and transforming the N-point time input array to the frequency domain by a discrete Fourier transform to generate an N-point input frequency array. The system replicates the N-point input frequency array to generate an M-point input frequency array where M is greater than N and utilizes a filter to generate a shaped M-point output filtered frequency array by multiplying the M-point input frequency array and the filter.

  • Patent number: 11563617
Abstract: System and methods for shaped single carrier orthogonal frequency division multiplexing with low peak to average power ratio are provided. The system receives an input signal and modulates the input signal to form Dirichlet kernels in a time domain to generate an offset Dirichlet kernel output time array where each Dirichlet kernel has a main lobe and a plurality of side lobes. Modulating the input signal suppresses a peak to average power ratio of the offset Dirichlet kernel output time array by reducing the plurality of side lobes of each Dirichlet kernel and respective amplitudes of the side lobes.

  • Publication number: 20220400795
Abstract: A method for manufacturing individualized protective gear such as pads based on a scan, and the resulting pads, are disclosed herein. A garment comprising a pocket with a visibly defined border is selected. A wearer dons the garment. A scan is taken of at least a portion of the garment over the wearer's body at the location where the pocket is disposed over the wearer's body. The scan is converted to a mesh model. The mesh model is used to define a first surface of the equipment configured to form to the wearer's body at the location where the pocket is disposed over the wearer's body and a second surface offset from the first surface. The model may be checked to identify production defects, which, if present, are removed. The equipment may be manufactured using additive printing technology.
