  • Publication number: 20240068758
Abstract: A modular two-piece bolt system for firearms with blowback actions provides a rear bolt piece which detachably couples to plural different front bolt pieces each of different mass. The front bolt pieces have a similar configuration and common coupling interface which forms an interlocked relationship with a complementary configured coupling interface on the rear bolt piece to prevent axial separation of the pieces when the action of the firearm is cycled. The system allows various front bolt pieces to be selected and used interchangeably with the rear bolt piece so that a front bolt piece of proper mass can be matched to the energy of ammunition to be fired. The front and rear bolt pieces when coupled define a continuous extended longitudinal passage which receives the rear breech end portion of the firearm barrel therethrough to reduce the projected length of the barrel.

  • Patent number: 11911876
Abstract: A system and method for producing an abrasive article includes a production tool configured to provide shaped abrasive particles to a resin coated backing. A first end and a second end of the production tool are spliced together to form a spliced area. The production tool includes a dispensing surface that includes a plurality of cavities formed between the first end and the second end and configured to receive and hold the shaped abrasive particles. The resin coated backing is configured to receive the shaped abrasive particles from the dispensing surface of the production tool and configured to receive further shaped abrasive particles to fill gaps in the shaped abrasive particles caused by an absence of the plurality of cavities in the spliced area.

  • Publication number: 20230396835
Abstract: A method and apparatus of a device that manages a video stream is described. In an exemplary embodiment, the device receives a plurality of packets for a video stream from a transmitting device via a server. The device may additionally store a first packet of the plurality of packets in a first buffer when the first packet is on-time and store a second packet of the plurality of packets in a second buffer when the second packet is late. The device may also further forward a frame from the second buffer to the first buffer when frame is complete.

  • Patent number: 11369087
Abstract: A buckle assembly includes a housing enclosing a locking bar for securing a latch. The latch is inserted into a latch cavity of the buckle assembly, pushing the spring-loaded locking bar into the housing until a convex feature of the latch passes a convex feature of the latch cavity, and slides to the side, whereupon the locking bar is extended by a compression spring, thereby locking the latch from release from the buckle assembly. The latch is released from the latch cavity by pulling a release cord or cable or trigger attached to the locking bar to overcome the spring tension and draw the locking bar up, thus allowing the latch to move away from the convex feature of the latch cavity and release from the buckle assembly.

  • Publication number: 20220148731
Abstract: Genetic and/or other biological marker prediction data are generated based on inputting medical image data to a suitably trained machine learning model, where the output genetic prediction data not only indicate a prediction of genetic features and/or other biological markers for a subject, but also a measure of uncertainty in each of those predictions. As an example, a transductive learning Gaussian process model is used to generate the genetic and/or other biological marker predication data and corresponding predictive uncertainty data. As another example, a knowledge-infused global-local data fusion model can be used for spatial predictive modeling.

  • Patent number: 11225696
Abstract: A delivery device that is usable in a laser peening operation emits a columnar flow of a fluid that contains therein a beam of electromagnetic energy. The beam is retained within the interior of the flow of fluid since the total internal reflectivity of the flow is sufficient to do so. The flow of fluid that serves as a conduit for the beam also itself impinges on a workpiece and thus contains and washes away the plasma that forms from a laser peening operation, and this resists the plasma from reaching and possibly damaging the delivery device. The carrying of the beam in the columnar flow of fluid avoids the need to maintain a fixed distance between the delivery device and the workpiece, which simplifies the movement by a robotic manipulator of the delivery device along a non-planar surface of a workpiece during a laser peening operation.

  • Patent number: 11221180
Abstract: A system and method for staged drying of temperature sensitive materials, the method comprising the following steps. Heated air is blown into a duct and solids are introduced into the duct at an elevated position along a vertical portion of the duct. The heated air and solids mixture is then transported along the duct for a desired retention time with adequate initial flash heating of the solids and then a gradual cool down of the solids. The solids are at an elevated temperature beyond the ambient dewpoint with evaporative cooling taking place. The solids and air mixture is then transported in the duct to a cyclone, where the solids are removed from the air. The air is exhausted out of the cyclone by an exhaust duct, and the solids are collected from the cyclone in a container.

  • Patent number: 10636307
Abstract: A broadcasting system for an autonomous vehicle is disclosed and includes an antenna, a plurality of sensors, one or more processors, and a memory coupled to the processors. The antenna is configured to send and receive wireless communication, and the antenna receives publically available wireless signals. The sensors are configured to generate signals indicating a real-time velocity and a real-time direction of travel of the autonomous vehicle. The processors are in communication with the antenna and the plurality of sensors. The memory stores data comprising program code that, when executed by the one or more processors, causes the system to receive as input the publically available wireless signals and the signals indicating the real-time velocity and the real-time direction of travel of the autonomous vehicle. The system is further caused to determine a real-time velocity and real-time direction of travel of autonomous vehicle.

  • Patent number: 10197157
Abstract: A continuously variable transmission (CVT) for a vehicle includes an input member, an output member and a variator assembly including a first pulley rotatably coupled to the input member and a second pulley rotatably coupled to the output. The first and second pulleys are rotatably coupled by a flexible continuous rotatable device. A control system is provided including an instruction set executable to determine an initial variator speed ratio of the variator assembly and detect an event causing a change in an operational state of the vehicle. The control system determines a compensation strategy to adjust the variator speed ratio in response to the change in the operational state of the vehicle and generates an adjusted variator speed ratio based upon the compensation strategy. The control system transmits the adjusted variator speed ratio to the variator assembly.
