  • Patent number: 7363138
Abstract: A method of controlling traction in a vehicle having at least one non-driven wheel speed sensor. Actual vehicle acceleration and a wheel speed difference are detected. At least one of the actual vehicle acceleration and the wheel speed difference is compared to at least one of a predetermined vehicle acceleration and a predetermined wheel speed difference to detect vehicle wheel slip. A wheel torque is reduced in response to detected wheel slip. The foregoing method allows traction control to be installed in many types of vehicles, including vehicles without ABS. More than one type of wheel slip detection can be implemented, and various types of wheel slip can be detected.

  • Patent number: 7314343
Abstract: A manipulator for servicing tubes extending through a tube sheet having three major components: a base member, a block member, and a foot member. The base member has a holder for supporting tooling or inspection devices. The base member also has at least one gripper for releasably gripping a tube extending through the tube sheet. The block member is connected to the base member for linear movement and rotation relative to the base member. The foot member is connected to the block member for linear movement relative to the block member. The foot member has at least one, and preferably two grippers, for releasably gripping a tube extending through the tube sheet. The manipulator supports itself using the two sets of expandable and translatable grippers that anchor into the tube ends and can move from tube to tube by alternately engaging each set of grippers.

  • Patent number: 7260434
Abstract: A feedthrough apparatus for a implantable medical device having a casing includes a conductive housing having an outer side, an inner side, and a peripheral surface with a continuous assembly groove therein for mounting on the casing of the implantable medical device. The conductive housing has first and second through bores extending between the outer side and the inner side in spaced apart, generally parallel, relationship. First and second filtered feedthrough assemblies are received, respectively, in the first and second through bores. Each filtered feedthrough assembly includes an insulative terminal, a filter capacitor, and a plurality of lead wires electrically isolated from the conductive housing supported on and extending through the insulative terminal and through the filter capacitor in conductive relation therewith. Also, a backfill port is provided on the conductive housing and has a passageway extending between the inner side and the outer side.

  • Patent number: 7200437
Abstract: An implantable cardiac system has a master pacing unit and a remote satellite pacing unit. The master pacing unit is electrically coupled to a right side of a patient's heart via a lead assembly. The satellite pacing unit is a leadless device mounted on the left side of the patient's heart and is wirelessly controlled by the master pacing unit. The satellite pacing unit is affixed to the heart by one or more mounting members. The base of the satellite unit case has a gel-like material which facilitates adhesion of the pacing unit to the heart tissue. The gel-like material promotes tissue growth to hold the pacing unit in place on the heart. The gel-like material may be composed of polyvinlpyrrolidone and may contain a steroid, such as dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), or dexamethazone sodium phosphate.
