  • Publication number: 20250103176
Abstract: A device may receive a first user interaction signal in response to a first user interaction with a first user interaction element. In response to the first user interaction signal, the device may provide a first instruction to the computing system to perform a first action with respect to the first indicator, wherein the first indicator is active. The device may receive a switch control signal in response to a second user interaction with a switch control element. The device may set the first indicator as the inactive indicator and the second indicator as the active indicator. The device may receive a second user interaction signal in response to a third user interaction with the first user interaction element and use the second controller to provide a second instruction to the computing system to perform a second action with respect to the second indicator.

  • Publication number: 20250078632
Abstract: A system for monitoring shopping carts uses cameras to generate images of the carts moving in a store. In some implementations, cameras may additionally or alternatively be mounted to the shopping carts and configured to image cart contents. The system may use the collected image data, and/or other types of sensor data (such as the store location at which an item was added to the basket), to classify items detected in the shopping carts. For example, a trained machine learning model may classify item in a cart as “non-merchandise,” “high theft risk merchandise,” “electronics merchandise,” etc. When a shopping cart approaches a store exit without any indication of an associated payment transaction, the system may use the associated item classification data, optionally in combination with other data such as cart path data, to determine whether to execute an anti-theft action, such as locking a cart wheel or activating a store alarm.

  • Publication number: 20250077145
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes: a controller that allows a display device to display a settings screen for setting of a function by a user and executes a job based on a user setting made through the settings screen; and a backup device that backs up as backup data the user setting on a storage device each time the user setting is made. When execution of the job based on the user setting is completed, the controller deletes the user setting from the storage device. When, in newly displaying a settings screen on the display device for another job, the user setting for a function configurable on the settings screen is saved on the storage device, the controller determines the content of the user setting as a content of a setting for the job and allows the display device to display the settings screen showing the content of the setting.

  • Publication number: 20250022356
Abstract: A system for monitoring shopping baskets (e.g., baskets on human-propelled carts, motorized carts, or hand-carried baskets) can include a computer vision unit that can image a surveillance region (e.g., an exit to a store), determine whether a basket is empty or loaded with merchandise, and assess a potential for theft of the merchandise. The computer vision unit can include a camera and an image processor programmed to execute a computer vision algorithm to identify shopping baskets and determine a load status of the basket. The computer vision algorithm can comprise a neural network. The system can identify an at least partially loaded shopping basket that is exiting the store, without indicia of having paid for the merchandise, and execute an anti-theft action, e.g., actuating an alarm, notifying store personnel, activating a store surveillance system, activating an anti-theft device associated with the basket (e.g., a locking shopping cart wheel), etc.

  • Publication number: 20240425686
Abstract: Provided is climate-smart process that combines a use of photosynthesis with remediating air, soil and water and a production of bio-products in which captured carbon is sequestered. The process includes one or more bio-crops that are converted into a climate-smart biomass. The climate-smart biomass captures an average of 7 tons of CO2/acre/year. During certain processes to make bio-products, the climate-smart biomass is heat treated between about 400° to about 500° C. for between about 30 to about 180 minutes under non-oxygenated conditions and 15% of carbon in the climate-smart biomass is consumed, leaving at least about 85% of the carbon in the climate-smart biomass.

  • Patent number: 12128960
Abstract: A tailgate support cable assembly includes a cable and a retainer portion attached to an end of the cable. The retainer portion rotatably attaches the end of the cable assembly to a vehicle tailgate. The retainer portion includes a tailgate retention portion, an object contact portion extending from the tailgate retention portion, and a sensor engagement portion extending from the object contact portion. The retainer portion is structured to rotate with respect to the tailgate responsive to contact between the object contact portion and a foreign object positioned in a seam between the tailgate and another portion of the vehicle, during a closing movement of the tailgate. Rotation of the retainer portion brings the sensor engagement portion into contact with (and activates) a touch sensor mounted on the tailgate. Activation of the touch sensor causes a stoppage and/or reversal of tailgate movement, thereby preventing “pinching” of the foreign object.

  • Publication number: 20240103758
Abstract: A buffer/interface device of the memory node may read and compress blocks of data (e.g., pages). When a memory buffer device compresses a block of data, it may keep storing the original uncompressed version in the original memory location (e.g., physical memory page). In this manner, an access directed to the block of data may be satisfied with the uncompressed version retrieved from the original memory location (e.g., physical memory page) without having to perform a decompression operation. As memory space is needed for other purposes (e.g., for an uncompressed copy of a recently decompressed block or as host allocated memory occupies more space), the original uncompressed versions of blocks (pages) that have not been accessed relatively recently (e.g., relative to other kept original uncompressed versions) may be evicted and replaced by other blocks of data (e.g., either compressed or uncompressed).
