  • Patent number: 5446459
Abstract: This invention relates to a broad bandwidth electromagnetic wave absorber comprising a sintered ferrite and a CuO--Fe.sub.2 O.sub.3 system. The CuO--Fe.sub.2 O.sub.3 system, a spinel ferrite, has its own magnetic property, which makes it possible to be used for an electromagnetic wave absorber. The CuO--Fe.sub.2 O.sub.3 system is preferentially located at the grain boundary in the matrix ferrite. This resulted in increase in the total loss, decrease in matching thickness and shift in the center frequency.

  • Patent number: 5341027
Abstract: A semiconductor device which includes a semiconductor integrated circuit chip provided with a plurality of chip bonding pads contiguous with the peripheral edge of the chip, and a plurality of leads directly bonded to respective ones of the chip bonding pads. The bonding pads are preferably formed within respective notches disposed in a marginal edge portion of the chip, with each of the notches having an open end formed in the peripheral edge of the chip. By locating the chip bonding pads contiguous with the peripheral edge of the chip, rather than a prescribed distance away from the peripheral edge of the chip, the bonding pads are directly accessible from the edge of the chip, thereby enabling the leads to be directly bonded to the bonding pads, and thus eliminating the need for bonding bumps or balls.

  • Patent number: 5323160
Abstract: Ferrites as an electromagnetic wave absorber have their unique attenuation ranges depending on their compositions. The possibility of controlling attenuation characteristics of ferrite absorber by forming laminates of ferrite is disclosed. This invention provides that the center frequency of laminated ferrites could be changed arbitrarily employing ferrite with different composition and thickness. The method consists of stacking at least two soft ferrite layers (Ni-Zn, Mn-Zn) with various thickness.

  • Patent number: 5313080
Abstract: A p type well is formed on an n type substrate and photodiode and VCCD regions are repeatedly at predetermined intervals in turns on the surface of the p type well.In an interline transfer image sensor, the p type well is formed on the n type substrate and the photodiode and VCCD region of predetermined intervals are repeatedly formed in turn on the surface of the p type well. The p.sup.+ type channel ion stop layer is formed at both edges of the VCCD region and the pinning voltage is applied to the p.sup.+ type channel stop layer. Accordingly, the variable potential of the potential contour of the VCCD region is increased and the storing capacity of the charge and the efficiency of the charge transfer are maximized side by side.

  • Patent number: 5246628
Abstract: Metal oxide group NTC theremistor material made from MnCO.sub.3 +NiO+CuO+Co.sub.3 O.sub.4 +FeO.sub.3 TiO.sub.2 group as a basic composition. The invention is characterized by metal oxide group thermistor material made from MnCO.sub.3 +NiO+ZnO+Co.sub.3 O.sub.4 +Fe.sub.2 O.sub.3 +TiO.sub.2 group or MnCO.sub.3 +NiO+CuO+ZnO+Fe.sub.2 O.sub.3 +TiO.sub.2 group as a basic composition having respectively composition amounts by weight for each ingredient described in the text. According to the invention, the sintering temperature of the material can be reduced relative to the conventional material, and therefore there is advantage that manufacturing expense of the thermistor can be reduced.

  • Patent number: 4802472
Abstract: An air supply device which may be used for emergencies such as an escape from a buring building comprises an air tank having a hose connected to a face mask and an activation element and a regulation element. The activation element consists of a spring biased valve which will automatically move to an opened position when a holding pin is released. The regulation element consists of a U-shaped valve having a first end for covering apertures leading to the hose and a second end in engagement with an expansion element. As air is removed from the tank during use of the device, the expansion element will expand due to a decrease in air pressure within the tank. As the expansion element enlarges, the U-shaped valve will move so as to expose additional apertures. A constant supply of air is therefore easily and automatically maintained.
