  • Composite drawcord/elastic waistband

    Abstract: A composite waistband includes an elastic band which is stretchable in the longitudinal direction and a non-elastic draw cord secured to one surface of the elastic band. The draw cord is secured to the elastic band by forming a plurality of stitches which extend over the draw cord and are sewn into the elastic band on either side of the draw cord. The plurality of stitches collectively define a longitudinally extending channel through which the draw cord extends.
