The methods described herein generally comprise methods of improving visual function (e.g., BCVA) in an eye of an individual having an ocular disease or disorder, comprising: administering a peptide (e.g., a composition comprising the peptide) comprising an amino acid sequence HHIYLGAVNYIY or a variant sequence thereof, or a pharmaceutically-acceptable salt of the peptide, to the eye of the individual.
