  • Patent number: 10495544
Abstract: A failure detection device is disclosed. The failure detection device may receive operations data related to operations of a set of parts of a machine. The failure detection device may process the operations data using a condition-based processing technique. The condition-based processing technique may be associated with mapping initial values of data elements of the operations data to binary values based on satisfaction of a first set of conditions by the initial values. The failure detection device may detect a presence of a possible issue with the operations of the set of parts based on a second set of conditions, associated with the binary values and the initial values, being satisfied during a time period. The failure detection device may perform, after detecting the presence of the possible issue, a set of actions related to addressing the possible issue.

  • Patent number: 10461429
Abstract: A consumer electronic product includes a switchable inductor array coupled to the RF antenna, the switchable inductor array comprising inductive elements and a switch circuit coupled to the inductor array to select at least one of the inductive elements and couple the selected inductive element with the RF antenna. The product can further include an assembly having a mesh that is strengthened by a stiffener. A multi-layer adhesive have a conductive layer that can be used to shield the RF antenna and adhesive layers that can provide adhesion between the stiffener and the housing of the product. The assembly can be covered by a cowling that is made of metal to provide further shielding. • Publication number: 20190085238
Abstract: In certain embodiments, a first semiconductor material is vaporized to generate a vapor phase condensate. The vapor phase condensate is allowed to form nanoparticles. The nanoparticles are annealed to yield nanoparticles or cores. The cores are overcoated by introducing a solution containing second semiconductor material precursors in a coordinating solvent into a suspension of cores at a desired elevated temperature and mixing for a period of time sufficient to cause diffusion of the shell into the core. The diffusion of the shell into the core causes the quantum dots to exhibit a broadened optical emission. The produced quantum dots may be incorporated into a quantum dot based radiation source.

  • Publication number: 20180333505
Abstract: A method for treating cancer by inducing a double strand DNA break at a chromosomal site in cancer cells, inserting a nucleic acid encoding a suicide gene into the chromosomal site having the double strand DNA break, and expressing the suicide gene in the cancer cells, thereby inducing cell death upon expression of the suicide gene. The chromosomal site includes a protospacer adjacent motif (PAM) absent from a corresponding chromosomal site in normal cells. Also disclosed is a cancer treatment method that includes identifying a single nucleotide change in the genomic sequence of cancer cells from a subject as compared to the genomic sequence of normal cells, the single nucleotide change forming a PAM, inserting a suicide gene specifically into the cancer cell genomic sequence, and activating the suicide gene, thereby leading to cell death. Furthermore, provided is a clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeat-associated protein having RNA-guided DNA endonuclease activity.
