  • Patent number: 11755577
Abstract: Techniques for scheduling search queries in a computing environment are disclosed. A search query scheduling system associates a first set of queries with a first skew tolerance, the first set of queries scheduled to be performed during a first period, where the first skew tolerance is based on a duration of the first period. The search query scheduling system reschedules a first subset of search queries included in the first set of queries by skewing the first subset of search queries over a first portion of the first period based on the first skew tolerance.

  • Publication number: 20230198267
Abstract: A method for determining when a connection of a power system to a grid has been disconnected. The method includes the power system supplying a first amount of reactive power to the grid to which the power system is connected, and the power system determining if there is a frequency change within the grid. This includes if the frequency change does not exceed a predetermined threshold, the power system supplying a second amount of reactive power to the grid, and if the frequency exceeds a predetermined threshold, the power system supplying a first amount of reactive power to the grid.

  • Patent number: 11645210
Abstract: Embodiments are disclosed for performing cache aware searching. In response to a search query, a first bucket and a second bucket in remote storage for processing the search query. A determination is made that a first file in the first bucket is present in a cache when the search query is received. In response to the search query, a search is performed using the first file based on the determination that the first file is present in the cache when the search query is received, and the search is performed using a second file from the second bucket once the second file is stored in the cache.

  • Patent number: 11544144
Abstract: An apparatus includes an error correction component coupled to read recovery control circuitry. The error correction component can be configured to perform one or more initial error correction operations on codewords contained within a managed unit received thereto. The read recovery control circuitry can be configured to receive the error corrected codewords from the error correction component and determine whether codewords among the error corrected codewords contain an uncorrectable error. The read recovery control circuitry can be further configured to determine that a redundant array of independent disks (RAID) codeword included in the plurality of error corrected codewords contains the uncorrectable error, request that codewords among the error corrected codewords that contain the uncorrectable error are rewritten in response to the determination, and cause the plurality of error corrected codewords to be transferred to a host coupleable to the read recovery control circuitry.

  • Patent number: 11500783
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for making space available in a local storage of a data intake and query system. A cache manager of the data intake and query system may determine an amount of storage space of a local data store that is available for use to perform a query. The cache manager may then use one or more eviction policies associated with content stored at the local data store to purge content items to evict from the local storage. The system may then retrieve content for performing the query from a remote storage and store the retrieved content at the local storage.

The DC power plant includes a relatively small start-up power source that is discontinued after the engine is running. A method for producing DC power for a load including starting up an engine using power supplied by a relatively small power supply supplemented by a capacitor bank, providing output from the engine to a generator, producing alternating current (AC) power by the generator, converting the AC power to direct current (DC) power, disabling output of the DC power during a first set of pre-selected conditions, limiting a rate of change of current of the DC power during a second set of pre-selected conditions, reducing conducted and radiated emissions of the DC power, disconnecting the DC power from the load under a third set of pre-selected conditions, and providing the DC power to the load.

  • Patent number: 11378340
Abstract: A heat transfer device includes a storage chamber, a coolant housed within the storage chamber, a cooling chamber, one or more heat transfer components, a fluid passage between the storage chamber and the cooling chamber, and a barrier element. The one or more heat transfer components facilitate heat transfer from a heat source outside of the cooling chamber to the cooling chamber. The barrier element may have (i) a closed configuration, and (ii) an open configuration in which the barrier element is configured to allow the coolant in the storage chamber to flow from the storage chamber into the cooling chamber. The barrier element may reconfigure from the closed configuration to the open configuration in response to a trigger condition, such as the coolant housed within the storage chamber reaching a trigger temperature and/or the initial pressure of the coolant housed within the storage chamber reaching a trigger pressure.

  • Patent number: 11373129
Abstract: A multi-factor risk analysis system may include a resource data store defining, for each of a plurality of resources: a resource identifier, a current resource value, and a resource type. A back-end application computer server may establish a set of risk parameter diversification objectives and determine a set of eligible resources by accessing the resource data store. The server may then calculate a value factor characteristic and a momentum factor characteristic for each of the eligible resources. A set of index resources may be constructed from the set of eligible resources based on the risk parameter diversification objective and a risk optimization process utilizing a weighted value factor characteristic and momentum factor characteristic of each resource. An interactive user interface may then be rendered including indications associated with the constructed set of index resources, the value factor characteristics, and the momentum factor characteristics.
