  • Publication number: 20140143188
Abstract: BAYSIC (BAYesian System for Integrated Combination) combines sets of genomic and other biological data features to optimize selected data feature attributes, for example, detecting genome variants including single nucleotide variants (SNVs) and small insertion/deletions in genomes. The present disclosure presents one possible embodiment employing BAYSIC to combine single nucleotide variants detected by several distinct variant calling methods into an integrated SNV call set that is more accurate than any single SNV calling method or any ad hoc method of combining call sets. BAYSIC is a, tested and validated method using unsupervised machine learning, employing Bayesian latent class inference to combine variant sets produced by different packages.

  • Publication number: 20110316268
Abstract: Collectable fingerprinted items and methods of making such fingerprinted items, including original and simulated fingerprints for application to an item to create a collectable item. The processes may be used to create a variety of collectable items, such as instrument picks, pendants, key fobs, charms, and other collectables. The process includes taking an original fingerprint impression, using the original impression to create a simulated fingerprint impression. The methods optionally include altering at least one identifying characteristic in a manner that prevents identity theft of other misuse of the fingerprint impression. The process optionally includes applying the simulated fingerprint impression to an item, such as by making a mold incorporating the simulated fingerprint, such as by using CAD/CAM technology and molding an item using the created mold.

  • Publication number: 20110022509
Abstract: A method and system for providing automatic electronic trading via yield curves. A yield curve is automatically traded via one or more electronic trading exchanges on a client device and/or a server device and/or a combination thereof, thereby making the execution of electronic trades for the yield curve faster and more reliable than when executing on one network device alone.

  • Publication number: 20100112968
Abstract: A method and apparatus for cloning contents of a source radio (104) into a target radio (106) are disclosed. The method (300) includes determining (302) a configurable flash-code (210) of the source radio. The configurable flash-code (210) is configured from a first purchase flash-code that represents a first set of features employed by a user associated with the source radio. The method then includes receiving (304) a second purchase flash-code (212) from the target radio. The second purchase flash-code (212) represents a second set of features purchased in the target radio. The method further includes determining (306) whether the first set of features associated with the configurable flash-code (210) is at least a subset of the second set of features associated with the second purchase flash-code (212).

  • Patent number: 7705215
Abstract: This invention relates to a reproducible system for the production of stable, genetically transformed maize cells, and to methods of selecting cells that have been transformed. One method of selection disclosed employs the Streptomyces bar gene introduced by microprojectile bombardment into embryogenic maize cells which were grown in suspension cultures, followed by exposure to the herbicide bialaphos. The methods of achieving stable transformation disclosed herein include tissue culture methods and media, methods for the bombardment of recipient cells with the desired transforming DNA, and methods of growing fertile plants from the transformed cells. This invention also relates to the transformed cells and seeds and to the fertile plants grown from the transformed cells and to their pollen.
