  • Publication number: 20200399801
Abstract: A sock comprises a sole portion knitted with successive courses of yarn with a thickness defining an outer layer having a first surface, and which further includes a number of spaced ribs extending in a longitudinal direction between the heel and toe each formed by knitting a selected number of additional courses of yarn which extend from the first surface in a direction toward the instep portion of the sock in a position to contact the plantar surface of the foot. Individual ribs are either continuous in the transverse direction, or discontinuous, in which case transverse spaces are formed therealong in between sections of stitched yarn. The longitudinal space between adjacent ribs, and the transverse spaces within individual ribs, are of sufficient strength to increase pressure upon the foot. thereby optimizing venous return of the blood in the foot back to the heart.

  • Publication number: 20110296627
Abstract: A method of treating fabric in a rotary clothes dryer is provided in which a substantially non-ionic liquid fabric treating composition is applied to a non-woven substrate, dried on the substrate to form a water-activated dryer sheet and then transferred during the course of a drying cycle from the water-activated dryer sheet to damp clothing within a clothes dryer as a result of contact of the composition with water contained within the damp clothing.

  • Patent number: 7989413
Abstract: A dryer sheet is provided comprising a liquid fabric treating composition having at least one active ingredient which is retained in liquid form within a substrate, preferably a sheet of non-woven material. The dryer sheet is introduced into a rotary clothes dryer with laundered, damp clothing where an effective amount of the active ingredient is transferred into the fabric of the articles of clothing during a drying cycle as a result of contact of the liquid fabric treating composition with water contained within the damp clothing.

  • Publication number: 20100189755
Abstract: The invention relates to substrates impregnated with the skin-treating components which when introduced into a tumbling-type dryer in which it contacts fabric articles, the skin-treating component is transferred to the fabric articles which, when contacted with the skin of a user applies the skin-treating component to human skin.

  • Publication number: 20080155756
Abstract: A method and apparatus for delivering and transferring a liquid fabric treating composition to saturated clothing within a clothes washing machine during the course of a laundering operation comprises operating the washing machine in the conventional fashion to perform a washing cycle and a rinse cycle. A liquid fabric treating composition is introduced into the washing machine with the saturated clothing after completion of the rinse cycle but in advance of the spin cycle. The liquid fabric treating composition and the saturated clothing are tumbled together so that an effective amount of the liquid fabric treating composition may be transferred to the clothing as a result of contact of the liquid fabric treating composition with water that is contained in the clothing after completion of the rinse cycle. The spin cycle in then initiated, after which time the clothing may be removed from the washing machine for drying.

  • Publication number: 20030188450
Abstract: A fabric softening system comprises a liquid fabric softening composition which is carried in liquid form within a substrate, which is introduced into a rotary clothes dryer with laundered, wet clothing where the softening composition is released into the fabric of the articles of clothing to impart both softening and anti-static properties.

Individual ribs are either continuous in the transverse direction, or discontinuous, in which case transverse spaces are formed therealong in between sections of stitched yarn. The longitudinal space between adjacent ribs, and the transverse spaces within individual ribs, are of sufficient width to induce the skin of the plantar surface of the foot to at least partially extend therein so as to enhance the frictional engagement of the foot with the sock.
