Patent number: 5041788Abstract: Main field magnets (10) create a static magnetic field through an examination region that is surrounding a resonator coil assembly (22). The resonator coil assembly includes a dielectric cylinder (60) on which a plurality of foil antenna or coil segments (30) are mounted. Pairs of adjustable tuning and matching capacitors (28, 34) are mounted on opposite sides of the cylinder in electric connection with the foil segments. The tuning capacitors are connected with a first pair of driven gears (90) disposed on one side of an annular reinforcing ring (64) and the matching capacitors are connected with a second pair of driven gears (100) mounted on the other side of the reinforcing ring. The outer hoop is supported and cushioned by a plurality of circumferentially spaced apart, planar rib members (ribs) and a planar central web member (web) which connects the hoops at their circumferential center lines. The web lies in a plane perpendicular to the rotational axis of the NPT. The ribs extend axially along the inner and outer hoops, connecting them, and the edges of the ribs lie along the opposite faces of the web. The ribs are angulated in the range from 15.degree. to 75.degree. to radial planes which intersect them at their radially inner ends. Patent number: 4816101Abstract: A process is disclosed for extruding a flat strip of uniformly thick sealant stock from an extruder which extrudes the sealant stock with a rotary helical action. The stock consists essentially of a vulcanizable mixture of a high molecular weight (mol wt) elastomer, a low mol wt elastomer, a curing agent and a processing aid selected from a tackifier and a homogenizer. The strip is less than about 10 mm thick, and at least 10 times as wide as it is thick. The stock does not flow and cannot be poured even at 212.degree. F. The stock is supplied to the extruder by a reciprocating pump which maintains an intermittent pressure yet provides the required uniform thickness of strip. Patent number: 4712646Abstract: A lineman's safety strap assembly is intended for attachment to a body belt. An elongated strap terminating in a buckle at one end for varying the length of the safety strip is provided with a first hook for coupling the safety strap to the body at the other end. A second hook for coupling the safety strap to the body belt is slidably mounted on the safety strap. An inclined sharp edged roller is slidably mounted on the safety strap for movement toward the midpoint of the strap. A cross belt terminating in spring-backed latches at both ends may be slidably coupled to the safety strap at two locations in order to form a closed loop for encircling the pole with the rollers facing inwardly. In the event of a fall, the cross belt bears against the inner face of the pole and the safety strap jams in the latches, while the lower edge of the roller is pulled into biting engagement with the outer face of the pole.
