  • Patent number: 11995829
Abstract: Within the field of elastography, a new approach analyzes the limiting case of shear waves established as a reverberant field. In this framework, it is assumed that a distribution of shear waves exists, oriented across all directions in 3D (e.g. 2D space+time). The simultaneous multi-frequency application of reverberant shear wave fields can be accomplished by applying an array of external sources that can be excited by multiple frequencies within a bandwidth, for example 50, 100, 150, . . . 500 Hz, all contributing to the shear wave field produced in the liver or other target organ. This enables the analysis of the dispersion of shear wave speed as it increases with frequency, indicating the viscoelastic and lossy nature of the tissue under study. Furthermore, dispersion images can be created and displayed alongside the shear wave speed images.

  • Patent number: 11986245
Abstract: A computing device uses a plurality of images of arthroplasty to measure implant position. A virtual three-dimensional model is generated using at least some of the plurality of images. Moreover, the computing device configured in accordance with the present application simulates, as a function of the virtual three-dimensional model, movement at the site. As a function of the simulating, the computing device determines occurrence, location and type of impingement, and identifies, using the determined location and type of the impingement, a plurality of surgical plans for treating the impingement, wherein each of the surgical plans has a respective degree of treatment effectiveness and a respective degree of invasiveness. Further, the computing device selects one of the surgical plans in accordance with the selected plan's predetermined respective degree of effectiveness and in accordance with the selected plan's predetermined respective degree of invasiveness.

  • Publication number: 20240116911
Abstract: Disclosed herein are antibacterial compounds that accumulate in Gram-negative bacteria, methods of preparing the compounds, and methods of using the compounds to inhibit or kill microbes, and methods of treating microbial infections, such as Gram-negative bacterial infections. Compounds selected for conversion to potential Gram-negative antibacterial compounds were identified based on compounds having low globularity and low flexibility. Amine substituents were then strategically added to the selected compounds to provide compounds having antibacterial activity against Gram-negative bacteria.

  • Patent number: 11951149
Abstract: Provided herein are methods for treating, reducing and/or ameliorating symptoms of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in a subject, where at least one measure of social impairment, anxiety, or repetitive behaviors is treated and/or ameliorated. Aspects include intranasally administering arginine vasopressin (AVP), or an analog of vasopressin, to a subject (e.g., a child between 6 and 12 years of age and having endogenous pre-treatment levels between about 0.045 and about 4.028 pg/mL, where the mean was 1.324 pg/mL). In children having high pre-treatment blood levels of AVP (e.g., about 25% or more above the mean pre-treatment AVP blood levels of the treatment group; or having pre-treatment blood vasopressin levels greater than 1.324 pg/mL), the treatment was enhanced. Because no difference in pre-treatment blood AVP levels was observed between control and ASD subjects, it was surprising that AVP treatment was more effective in subjects having high pre-treatment AVP levels.

  • Patent number: 11943280
Abstract: Various systems and methods for implementing a multi-access edge computing (MEC) based system to realize 5G Network Edge and Core Service Dimensioning using Machine Learning and other Artificial Intelligence Techniques, for improved operations and usage of computing and networking resources, and are disclosed herein. In an example, processing circuitry of a compute node on a network is used to analyze execution of an application to obtain operational data. The compute node then may modularize functions of the application based on the operational data to construct modularized functions. A phase transition graph is constructed using a machine-learning based analysis, the phase transition graph representing state transitions from one modularized function to another modularized function, where the phase transition graph is used to dimension the application by distributing the modularized functions across the network.

  • Publication number: 20240057644
Abstract: A container or device in a combination for thawing frozen food items in a thawing process is described. It is at least partially filled with a fixed amount of water, with the food items in a leak-proof package completely submerged within the water. A housing of the device or container has slits that serve as inlets for the water to be drawn therein. A submersible pump within the housing agitates water from the container that is drawn in through the slits. An agitator outlet of the housing or container exhausts the water agitated by the pump into the container so as to be continuously circulated over the one or more frozen food items. This is done at specified water temperature and flowrate ranges such that no food items within the leak-proof package exceed 40° F. during the thawing process.
