  • Publication number: 20210410186
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are described herein for BWP and SUL operation in wireless systems, especially in systems using a shared spectrum. In one embodiment, a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may receive information related to an upcoming channel occupancy time (COT) and use the received information to determine at least one resource for the operation of the WTRU during the COT. In one embodiment, the WTRU operating in a wireless network may transmit data on a first uplink carrier. It may trigger a switch from the first uplink carrier to a second uplink carrier based on at least one condition of the network and transmit data on the second uplink carrier.

  • Publication number: 20210392506
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are described herein for spectrum sharing and transmission mechanisms for different channel access priorities. For example, a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may be configured as either a high priority (HP) WTRU or a low priority (LP) WTRU, wherein a HP WTRU is configured to use a first channel access method for accessing the set of network resources and a LP WTRU is configured to use a second channel access method for accessing the same set of network resources, the second channel access method having a lower priority than the first channel access method. A set of protected network resources may be scheduled within the set of network resources for being accessed by the LP unit (e.g., over a limited period of time) with fewer channel access restrictions (e.g., with a higher priority channel access method than in any unprotected network resources).

  • Publication number: 20210385738
Abstract: In a network comprising both fixed transmission points and mobile transmission points, the transmission points may transmit discovery reference signals that allow WTRUs to detect and/or synchronize to the transmission points. The fixed and mobile transmission points may transmit discovery reference signals with different characteristics that allow the WTRUs to distinguish between fixed and mobile transmission points. The mobile transmission points may also transmit a separate maintenance reference signal that allows WTRUs to maintain a connection with the mobile transmission point. For networks in which fixed a mobile transmission points operate in different frequency bands, the mobile transmission points may also periodically transmit discovery beacon signals in the frequency band of the fixed transmission points to allow discovery. Conditions may be imposed on WTRUs before the WTRU will transmit to the network a measurement report reporting on a potential transmission point to which it may be switched.

  • Publication number: 20210385759
Abstract: Techniques for uplink power control (e.g., for New Radio (NR)) are disclosed. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may determine that the WTRU is to perform a first and a second transmissions using a first and a second transmission beams. The WTRU may determine an uplink transmission power for one or more of the first or second transmissions. For example, if the angular separation of the first and the second transmission beams is greater than a first separation threshold, the WTRU may determine the uplink transmission power having a first maximum power level parameter and a second maximum power level parameter. If the angular separation of the first and the second transmission beams is less than a second separation threshold, the WTRU determine the uplink transmission power having a shared maximum power level parameter. The WTRU may transmit the first and second transmissions using the first and second transmission beams, respectively.

  • Patent number: 11184877
Abstract: One or more techniques for beamformed paging are disclosed. A transmission/reception point (TRP) may transmit a paging inquiry signal using beam sweeping in a paging inquiry (PI) block with a different time, frequency resource set and/or sequence configuration associated with the same paging occasion (PO), for example, to randomize and/or distribute WTRUs into different monitoring groups. A WTRU may transmit an uplink paging inquiry response indicating a downlink beam for a paging data transmission and/or a WTRU ID. A downlink control and/or a data channel transmission may be triggered by a paging inquiry response transmission. Paging downlink control information may be transmitted in a WTRU-specific control channel, which may contain CRC bits masked by a temporary paging identity, e.g., based on a WTRU ID that may be reported in a paging inquiry response transmission. A WTRU paging procedure may be based on a paging inquiry signal and/or response transmission.

  • Publication number: 20210297225
Abstract: A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may receive one or more physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) transmissions and each PDSCH transmission may be associated with downlink control information (DCI) and a group of PDSCH transmissions. Further, the WTRU may determine a first group or a second group based on an indication received in DCI associated with at least one of the PDSCH transmissions. Then, the WTRU may generate hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ)-acknowledgment (ACK) feedback for data received in one or more PDSCH transmissions associated with the determined group. Moreover, the WTRU may transmit the HARQ-ACK feedback. In an example, the DCI which includes the indication may schedule a plurality of PDSCH transmissions included in the determined group. In another example, the DCI which includes the indication may further include a first codepoint mapped to the first group or a second codepoint mapped to the second group.

  • Publication number: 20210243808
Abstract: A WTRU may be configured to perform radio link monitoring (RLM) based on RLM reference signals (RLM-RSs) transmitted in a cell operating in an unlicensed spectrum. The WTRU may evaluate a radio link failure (RLF) status for the cell using a first RLM criteria based on the RLM-RSs. A transmission instance of the RLM-RSs may be skipped, for example, due to a listen before talk (LBT) failure at a gNodeB (gNB). The WTRU may adapt or change the first RLM criteria and/or evaluate the RLF status of the cell operating in the unlicensed spectrum using a second RLM criteria based on determining that the transmission instance of the RLM-RSs was skipped. The first RLM criteria may correspond to a first RLM process that utilizes a first set of RLM parameters. The second RLM criteria may correspond to a second RLM process that utilizes a second set of RLM parameters.

  • Publication number: 20210176710
Abstract: A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may receive/transmit data by employing a discontinuous reception cycle, which may include an awake state and a sleep state. For example, while in an awake state, a WTRU may monitor a PDCCH for a subset of time instances. During the remaining time instances, the WTRU may enter a sleep state, in which the WTRU may switch its receiving circuitry off (e.g., to reduce power consumption). A WTRU may receive (e.g., may expect to receive) one or more transmissions, during an awake state, before entering a sleep state. The durations of an awake state and/or the durations of subsequent sleep states may be determined based on whether the WTRU receives a transmission during the awake state and/or what the transmission was for. The WTRU may modify the value of a sleep state timer based on previous sleep state and/or awake state timer values.
