  • Publication number: 20240109774
Abstract: A hydrogen-rich hydrocarbon fuel gas can be separated into a methane fuel stream and a hydrogen product stream. The methane fuel stream can be fed to a methane fuel fired furnace, combustion of the methane fuel stream can produce a carbon-dioxide-rich flue gas, and a carbon capture process can be performed on the carbon-dioxide-rich flue gas. The hydrogen product stream can be fed to a hydrogen fired furnace or elsewhere. Combustion of the hydrogen product stream in a hydrogen fired furnace can generate a flue gas the is low in carbon dioxide. Electrolysis of water obtained from the hydrogen fired furnace flue gas can produce hydrogen for a desired use, such as fuel for the hydrogen fired furnace, and can produce oxygen for enriching the fuel gas fed to the methane fuel fired furnace.

  • Patent number: 11844384
Abstract: A “Power Wedge” can be inserted into a pocket of a batting glove, or used separately. The wedge can include an elongate generally teardrop shape, with an interior face that is convexly curved, defining a trough with a curvature that corresponds to the curvature of a bat handle. The wedge can include one or more tethering loops anchored inside the wedge. Such loops may extend from the wedge out the top end of the wedge. A tethering loop can also be provided extending out the bottom tapered end of the wedge, as well. Such loops may be wrapped around the thumb, index finger, and/or wrist of the user. Such tethers can also be wrapped around the bat handle. Such tethers are particularly helpful if the wedge is not received into pocket of a batting glove. The wedge can also be used with golf gloves and golf clubs.

  • Publication number: 20230374138
Abstract: Chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) is a primary dose-limiting side effect caused by antineoplastic agents, such as paclitaxel. This causes damage to peripheral nerves and the dorsal root ganglia (DRG). Currently, there are no effective treatments for CIPN, which can lead to long-term morbidity in patients and survivors. Neuronal-immune interactions occur in CIPN and have been implicated both in the development and progression of the disease and disease resolution. The inventors investigated the potential role of Inducible co-stimulatory molecule (ICOS) in the resolution of CIPN. ICOS is an immune checkpoint molecule that is expressed on the surface of activated T cells and promotes proliferation and differentiation of T cells. They found that intrathecal administration of ICOS agonist antibody (ICOSaa) alleviates mechanical hypersensitivity caused by paclitaxel and facilitates the resolution of pain in female mice without a clear benefit in male mice.
