  • Publication number: 20110274384
Abstract: An axial thrust bearing system comprises a rolling bearing (6) which comprises an upper race (7) secured to an upper cover (4), a lower race (8) secured to a bearing seat (5), rolling elements (9) between the two races, and a cage (10) for retaining these rolling elements. At least one of the races consists of a part separate from the upper cover or from the bearing seat. The cage comprises a framework portion(15) keeping the rolling elements (9) on a rolling circumference, a first lip (16a, 16d) and a second lip (16b, 16c) each extending radially from a periphery of the framework respectively towards the outside and towards the inside of the rolling circumference (17). The first and the second lips (16a-16b, or 16d-16c) are both in sealed contact, on either side of the separate part, with a substantially radial surface portion of the upper cover (4a) or of the bearing seat (5a).

  • Patent number: 7044012
Abstract: Actuating device comprising a longitudinal shaft (2), an intermediate tailstock spindle (3), an outside sleeve (4), internal thread means (5) making it possible to connect the longitudinal shaft and the intermediate tailstock spindle to generate an axial movement of one with respect to the other, external thread means (6) making it possible to couple the intermediate tailstock spindle and the outside sleeve and suitable for generating an axial movement of one with respect to the other, the said internal coupling means comprising internal roller elements (7) engaged on the one hand with the external and internal threads of the intermediate tailstock spindle and/or the said external coupling means comprising external roller elements (25) engaged on the one hand with the external thread of the intermediate tailstock spindle and the internal thread of the outside sleeve and comprising coupling means making it possible to couple the shaft and the intermediate tailstock spindle or the intermediate tailstock spindle

  • Patent number: 6719103
Abstract: An actuator (5) comprises a housing (4) with a motor (6) and a screw mechanism (9), said screw mechanism comprising nut (10) and a screw (11) one of which is rotatably supported with respect to the housing by means of a screw mechanism support (13) allowing relative rotations of the screw and the nut with respect to the longitudinal screw mechanism axis (28), and an actuating member (15) connected to the screw mechanism by means of an actuating member connection (26), such that on relative rotation of the nut and screw the actuating member is displaced with respect to the housing. The screw mechanism support and the actuating member connection allow rotations having at least one axis transverse with respect to the longitudinal screw mechanism axis, so as to compensate traverse loading and bending moments.

  • Patent number: 6691837
Abstract: A screw actuator comprises a nut and a screw each comprising helical grooves, said nut and screw engaging each other by rollers or balls which are in contact with said grooves, a lubricant being provided for the grooves and rollers or balls. Integrated in the actuator is a module, which is connected to at least the helical grooves of the nut and/or screw for replenishing the lubricant for the grooves and rollers or balls of the actuator.

  • Patent number: 6607059
Abstract: A screw actuator comprises a screw (1) and a nut (2) which are each provided with at least a helical groove (3,4), and a series of rollers or balls (5) which are in rolling contact with the grooves (3,4). A sleeve (6) is provided which surrounds the nut (2) at least partly. The sleeve (6) may carry a seal (7) which acts between the nut (2) and screw (1); e.g. a wiper seal. The seal (7) may be fixedly connected to the nut (2), and frictionally engage the screw (1).

  • Publication number: 20030051569
Abstract: Screw actuator (1, 71), in particular brake actuator, comprising a hollow screw (14, 45, 51, 63, 74) which is driven in rotation and a nut (10, 72) which can thereby be displaced in the axial direction and in the case of a brake actuator acts as a piston (19). Rotary elements (23) are accommodated in the grooves delimited between screw and nut. There are means for recirculating these rotary elements. These means comprise a recess (47, 52, 58, 64) in the screw. This recess decreases in size in the direction towards the center axis of the grooves. This recess may comprise a wall aperture between two adjacent screws. It is also possible to arrange a tube which connects two recesses of this type. A further option consists in fitting an insert part in a recess in the screw.
