  • Patent number: 11664175
Abstract: An extinguishing chamber of magnetic blow-out type for a breaking device includes a field source, a magnetic carcass and a breaking region, in which an electric arc is liable to form when a breaking pole belonging to the breaking device is opened. The field source is arranged to generate a magnetic field intended to move the electric arc in order to stretch it and accelerate its cooling and its extinguishing. The carcass is arranged to channel the magnetic field. The carcass is stood up against the field source and closes in front thereof so as to create an air gap in the magnetic circuit formed by the field source and the carcass and to thus maximize the magnetic field that passes through the breaking region.

  • Patent number: 10319542
Abstract: An electric arc breaker device comprises a contact zone in which there are present at least one stationary contact and at least one movable contact that is movable relative to the stationary contact. The contacts are capable of being put into contact with each other and of being separated from each other. An arcing horn is present facing the stationary contact, the height hc of the arcing horn being greater than or equal to the height ht of the stationary contact, and the arcing horn presenting a folded-back arc switching portion extending in a direction away from the stationary contact.

  • Patent number: 10242814
Abstract: An electric arc extinction chamber comprises a stack of electric arc splitter plates. The splitter plates define an inlet of the extinction chamber that is to be present facing electric contacts, and a back of the extinction chamber. At least one permanent magnet is present inside the extinction chamber in a central zone in the width direction of the extinction chamber and beside the back thereof. The magnet presents magnetization having a non-zero component along an axis extending between the inlet and the back of the extinction chamber.

  • Patent number: 9299509
Abstract: An electrical switching device (1) which comprises at least one double breaking pole provided with two fixed contacts (3, 4) that cooperate with two moving contacts (5, 6) arranged so as to move in a breaking plane (P) and define, with every fixed contact, a breaking zone. The device comprises a permanent magnet (11, 12) housed in an insulating holder arranged in the immediate environment, next to each breaking zone, symmetrically with respect to the breaking plane and oriented so as to generate a magnetic excitation vector parallel to the breaking plane (P) so that the induced electromagnetic force (FE) moves and stretches every electric arc (E1, E2), generated when opening the electrical circuit, in a direction perpendicular to the breaking plane (P), leading to the extinction of the electric arc regardless of the polarity of the magnet and/or of the current.
