  • Publication number: 20060082997
Abstract: A lighting device is adapted to light an area of lighting (4) and includes a lighting support (6) having a bell (12), a first light source (20), and a second light source (40) distinct from the first light source (20). The light source (20) is disposed on the same side of the bell (12) as the first light source (20). The lighting device (10) has an enlarging optical element (44) adapted to enlarge a light beam emitted towards the area of lighting (4) by the second light source (40), and interposed between the second light source (40) and the area of lighting (4). The lighting device is suitable for use in operating theaters.

  • Patent number: 6844976
Abstract: The present invention relates to a heat filter and a process for manufacturing this filter. This heat filter may for example be used to filter surgical or examination lighting composed of a light source which emits energy, or radiation, in the visible and infrared ranges. It allows the light emitted by this source to be filtered so as to prevent infrared radiation from hindering the surgical team or the patient. It includes a substrate, at least one layer of an infrared reflecting material, and a coating forming an interference filter in the visible range. The invention process includes the deposition on a substrate of a layer of an infrared reflecting material and the deposition on this layer of an interference filter in the visible range.

  • Publication number: 20040129860
Abstract: The lighting device for lighting a lighted field comprises a light source having first and second lighting modules. The lighting modules are adapted to light lighted domains of the lighted field. The lighted domains form an overlap zone, and each lighting module defines an overlap volume. The device includes detector means adapted to detect a zone of reduced lighting in the overlap zone, and control means adapted to increase the light flux from said second lighting module when the detector means detect a zone of reduced lighting. The invention is applicable to lighting devices used in operating theaters.

  • Patent number: 6666382
Abstract: Releasable PCMCIA cards (10) suitable for plugging into the slot (12) of a micro-computer (14). To enable the releasable plug-in card (10) to be used as a smart card reader, it is altered in such a way that it can receive a smart card (22). For this purpose, the releasable card (10) includes a guide system (15) with a shape matching that of a smart card (22) so that the smart card is properly positioned relative to the reader. A micro-computer or PCMCIA card may thus be protected by means of a security smart card.

  • Patent number: 5432618
Abstract: A method that enables the certification, at reception as well as at transmission, of messages sent by facsimile includes writing characteristic elements of a message in a rectangular box at the head of this message. A certifier device is used to decode alphanumerical characters of this box, encrypt them, and fashion an alphanumerical seal which is transmitted on the line of the facsimile machine with the standard code of facsimile transmission signals. At reception, the seal appears at the bottom of the message while the box appears always at the top of the message. To authenticate this seal, the receiver may approach an information retrieval center which will carry out the encoding operation on the contents of the box and compare the result with the seal to authenticate the message.
