  • Patent number: 11347981
Abstract: A flatbed printer and a method for a flatbed printer are disclosed. The flatbed printer includes a print controller configured to receive a digital image intended to be printed by the flatbed printer, to receive position information entered by a parameter window of the user interface of the position of the image on the flatbed area, to receive an indication entered by the parameter window that the image has to be positioned on the media piece, to open the parameter window for entry of a set of parameters allowing to define a size of the media piece and a position of the media piece on the flatbed surface, and the image position relative to the media piece, to receive the entered set of parameters, to show the media piece and the image on the flatbed area in the preview window, and, when moving the media piece or the image over the flatbed area in the preview window, the relative position of the image with respect to the media piece is preserved.

  • Patent number: 9656492
Abstract: A flatbed printer and a method for printing with a flatbed printer are disclosed. The flatbed printer includes a flatbed surface for placing media to be printed upon, a controller configured to control the printing of digital images on the media, a camera-projector system connected to the controller and situated above the flatbed surface, and a print head for ejecting recording material on the media. The method includes detecting an arbitrary position, an arbitrary shape, an arbitrary size and/or an arbitrary thickness of a media on the flatbed surface with a camera of the camera-projector system, projecting a digital image on the media with a projector of the camera-projector system, and printing the digital image on the media according to the projection by moving the print head over the flatbed surface.

  • Patent number: 9467598
Abstract: A system and method for carrying out improved spatial and color adaptive gamut mapping algorithms, based on image decomposition in two bands Ihigh and Ilow using 5D bilateral filtering. A function g( ) applied to the low-pass band Ilow carries out black point compensation followed by a gamut clipping algorithm. Function k( ) applied to Ihigh is a locally adaptive function. The merging and adaptive mapping of IhighM and IlowM by function f( ) using local adaptive implementations of the two families of pointwise GMAs: compression and clipping is carried out. Two functions f( ) are proposed, they take into account the color properties of the neighborhood of each pixel.

  • Patent number: 8451502
Abstract: A method of halftoning an image wherein a source file that represents the image in the form of a first pixel array, in which at least one input color value that is given by a first number of bits is assigned to each pixel, is electronically processed to compute an output file in the form of a second pixel array in which at least one output color value that is given by a second number of bits, said second number being smaller than the first number, is assigned to each pixel of the second pixel array, wherein the processing is performed in a Graphics Processing Unit (GPU).
