  • Patent number: 9046207
Abstract: The invention relates to a line for transporting a hydrocarbon. The line comprises a hollow tube having an electrically insulating outer surface, a heating layer with carbon fibers embedded in a polymer material, an electrical insulation layer arranged on the heating layer, a reinforcing layer with carbon fibers embedded in a polymer material arranged on the electrical insulation layer, and power supply means for feeding an electrical current to the heating layer for heating the tube.

Date of Patent: June 2, 2015
    Assignee: Total SA
    Inventors: Thibaud Bigex, Jérome Woirin
  • Patent number: 9020333
Abstract: The invention relates to a line for transporting a hydrocarbon. The line includes a hollow inner tube extending in a longitudinal direction for transporting the fluid in the inner tube and having an electrically insulating outer surface. A heating layer is arranged on the inner tube and comprises carbon fibers embedded in a polymer material. A heat insulation layer is arranged around the heating layer. An outer tube is arranged around the heat insulation layer. The outer tube is designed to resist an outer pressure at least higher than 100 bar. Spacing means hold the outer tube at a distance from the inner tube in a fixed manner. Power supply means feed an electric current to the heating layer in order to heat the inner tube.

Date of Patent: April 28, 2015
    Assignee: Total SA
    Inventors: Thibaud Bigex, Jérôme Woirin
  • Patent number: 8701713
Abstract: The invention relates to a heating device for a device for transporting a fluid containing a hydrocarbon. The heating device comprises a rigid structure extending between two lateral walls, forming a space between the lateral walls. A flexible membrane comprising a heating structure extends into the space in order to define, in the space, an inner cavity and an outer cavity. Pumping structure designed to supply a fluid to the inner cavity, remove the fluid therefrom, or keep the fluid therein, in order to bring the membrane into contact with the transport device so as to heat same.
