  • Patent number: 11710827
Abstract: A method for the preparation of an electrode comprising a substrate made of an aluminium based material, vertically aligned carbon nanotubes and an electrically conductive polymer matrix, the method comprising the following successive steps: (a) synthesising, on a substrate made of an aluminium based material, a carpet of vertically aligned carbon nanotubes according to the technique of CVD (Chemical Vapour Deposition) at a temperature less than or equal to 650° C.; (b) electrochemically depositing the polymer matrix on the carbon nanotubes from an electrolyte solution including at least one precursor monomer of the matrix, at least one ionic liquid and at least one protic or aprotic solvent. Further disclosed is the prepared electrode and a device for storing and returning electricity such as a supercapacitor comprising the electrode.

  • Patent number: 11358867
Abstract: A facility for producing a composite material that includes carbon nanotubes. The facility includes a reaction chamber with an injection device for injecting an active gas mixture (for the growth of the carbon nanotubes) into the interior volume thereof. A transport device is to transport a substrate into the reaction chamber to form the composite material. The injection device may transport the active gas mixture in a first direction into the interior volume. A circulation device is to circulate the active gas mixture, and may transport the active gas mixture into the interior volume in a second direction that is different from the first direction. The circulation device may adopt a first configuration of injection of the active gas mixture into the interior volume of the chamber, and a second configuration of extraction of the active gas mixture from the interior volume.

  • Publication number: 20210171350
Abstract: A method for providing a substrate made of a porous carbonaceous material with vertically aligned carbon nanotubes, the method having a first step of depositing a ceramic underlayer on the substrate followed by a second step of synthesizing, by catalytic chemical vapour deposition, the vertically aligned carbon nanotubes on the substrate obtained after the first step, the carbon source necessary for the synthesis during this second step being injected in a direction substantially perpendicular to the plane of the substrate and at a pressure less than 8104 Pa (800 mbar). The use of the substrate for preparing an electrode such as a supercapacitor electrode.

  • Publication number: 20200227210
Abstract: A composite comprises vertically aligned carbon nanotubes (VACNT) on a substrate and additional disordered carbon deposited on the outer face of the nanotubes. This additional carbon is not amorphous but comprises graphitic domains. This composite can be prepared by a chemical vapor deposition (CVD) process in the presence of a catalyst on a metal substrate at atmospheric pressure. It can be used as an electrode in electronic and electrotechnical devices, such as supercapacitors.
