    Abstract: There is provided a pneumatic tire having improved wet grip performance and fuel efficiency in a good balance. The pneumatic tire is provided with a tread composed of a rubber composition comprising not less than 0.5 part by mass of silica and 5 to 50 parts by mass of a resin having a melt viscosity (150° C.) of 12000 to 15000 mPa·s based on 100 parts by mass of a rubber component. The rubber component comprises 40 to 100% by mass of a styrene-butadiene rubber and 0 to 60% by mass of a butadiene rubber. The resin is selected from the group consisting of a terpene phenol resin, a phenol resin and an alkylphenol resin.
