  • Patent number: 9999696
Abstract: The invention relates to a system for treating gases and/or liquids with radiation or for detecting radiation in gases and/or liquids, including at least one optical system and a reactor. The reactor has a hollow body shape which includes lateral surfaces, connecting parts, and an inner chamber which may be open to the front and rear sides, through which a medium flows or in which the medium is present. The reactor is designed, at least partially, in the form of a radiation reflector and is divided into first and second functional areas. This enables a particularly homogeneous radiation distribution in the inner chamber of the reactor, which increases the efficiency of the treatment or detection. Also, due to this arrangement, the system is more compact.

  • Patent number: 9381458
Abstract: A device for disinfecting of gases and/or liquids, includes a tube of UV-transparent glass having a hollow interior space and a tube wall with a tube inside wall and a tube outside wall, as well as at least one UV-light source. The UV-transparent glass tube has an indentation extending into the interior space on at least one location and in the at least one indentation at least one UV-light source is arranged. The geometry causes the UV-light sources to be closer to the medium to be disinfected, so that a large portion of the UV-light reaches the interior space on a direct path through the glass, thus allowing for a low-loss transfer of the UV-light.

  • Patent number: 6178281
Abstract: A method for the manufacture of optical components, at least one three-dimensional optical waveguide structure being produced in a light-sensitive substrate by locally subjecting the substrate to an exposure so that a difference in refractive index between the substrate and the at least one optical waveguide structure is created. Provision is made for an exposure to occur at least twice, at different angles of incidence for the light perpendicular to a light wave propagation direction of the optical waveguide structure; the substrate surrounding what will later be the optical waveguide structure thereby experiences a diminution in refractive index, the optical waveguide structure being defined using a mask.
