  • Patent number: 9732704
Abstract: Gas engine arrangement having a gas engine, a gas rail, via which a first gas in the form of fuel gas can be supplied to at least one gas metering device of the gas engine, and a gas control section, which is designed to supply fuel gas to the gas rail via a supply path on the outflow side. A purge line is passed into the gas rail. The gas engine arrangement is designed to selectively supply fuel gas or a second gas to the purge line, and the gas engine arrangement is designed to displace gas from the gas rail and to discharge it via the supply path when the fuel gas or second gas is supplied to the purge line.

  • Publication number: 20160146140
Abstract: A method for operating a quantity-controlled internal combustion engine having at least two cylinders, including the following steps: ascertaining a present operating state; determining a number of cylinders or cylinder groups to be deactivated in dependence on the present operating state; deactivating or keeping deactivated a fuel supply for at least one cylinder to be deactivated or at least one cylinder group if at least one cylinder or at least one cylinder group is to be deactivated; and opening a flow-influencing element associated with the at least one cylinder or the at least one cylinder group for a fresh mass supply to the at least one cylinder to be deactivated or the at least one cylinder group to be deactivated.

  • Patent number: 6220224
Abstract: The invention relates to a fuel-injection system for an internal combustion engine. The fuel-injection system contains a number of fuel injectors which are supplied with fuel by a high-pressure pump via a common inlet pipe and high-pressure lines leading from said pump to the individual fuel injectors. High-pressure storage devices are provided in each of the high-pressure lines in each of the high-pressure lines, the fuel storage volumes of said high-pressure storage devices being between 80 and 300 times, preferably between 120 and 200 times the maximum injection quantity per injection action. The diameter D2 of the high-pressure lines leading from the common inlet pipe to the high-pressure storage devices is measured to minimize the difference in the quantities of fuel injected by the fuel injectors.
