  • Patent number: 6889377
Abstract: A system and method for uniformly administering parameters for a load distribution and load control of a computer platform includes a processor and a storage mechanism. Software components run on the processor, and include a manager component, which is a load model manager, that uniformly administers parameters for a load distribution and load control of the system. The platform further includes a catalog stored in the storage mechanism via which the load model manager administers the parameters. The catalog includes a plurality of tables. Each of the tables respectively includes a load model which is a complete, consistent set of parameters that influence the load distribution of the load control of the computer system.

  • Patent number: 5655120
Abstract: Method for load handling in a multiprocessor system, particularly a multiprocessor system of a communication system, whereby arising jobs can be processed by a plurality of processors under real-time conditions. When individual processors proceed into overload due to locally heavy load situations, then a discharge of the local overload is achieved in that further requests arriving at the processor in this load situation are forwarded insofar as possible or necessary to other processors that are not overloaded.

  • Patent number: 4790005
Abstract: Information(s) to be processed for call set up, as well as for testing and maintenance are supplied to a switching unit. The former are prioritized. A loadability measuring circuit, which compares actual-loading with reference-loading during leveling longer period, short term fluctuations, and continuously sets an adjustment standard related to the inflow of information, which is pre-supplied to a corresponding counter, for continuing inflow measurement, then measures loading caused by information of both kinds, measures instead, average corresponding reduced reference-value dependent, reference-actual comparison, for the case where this loading is too high, only the loading dependent upon call set up information to be processed. The adjustment standard is only reduced when the latter loading is too high, it is increased instead when the latter loading, as well as the loading dependent upon both kinds of information is too low.
