  • Patent number: 8885604
Abstract: A first base station associated with a first radio cell is used to transmit data packets in a second sequence to at least one subscriber station by at least one first radio channel. The subscriber station sorts out the received data packets into a first sequence in an intermediate storage unit and the base station associated with the first radio cell is used to derive and/or represent status information relating to the content of the intermediate storage unit in a status memory unit. Transmission of the data packets is relayed from the first to the second radio cell and data packets are transmitted by a base station associated with the second radio cell to the subscriber station by at least one other radio channel. The status information is transferred from the base station associated with the first radio cell to the base station associated with the second radio cell.

Abstract: A method and radio communication system for the transmit useful information as a service to several user stations with at least one radio network controller, at least one base station and at least one user station. The radio network controller is connected to an access device in a core network. The useful information is provided to several users as a service, whereby the user stations of the users are informed before the transmission of the useful information. • Patent number: 8254975
Abstract: According to a first aspect, there is provided a method for controlling uplink access transmissions in a radio communication system, wherein a user equipment determines a delay time for transmitting a signal on an uplink access channel, wherein the delay time is randomly determined based upon a probability distribution that increases in density with increasing delay. According to a second aspect, there is provided a method for controlling uplink access transmissions in a radio communication system, wherein from a base station of the radio communication system, time variable information is signalled in downlink to user equipments located in an area covered by the base station, wherein the information is used to determine delay times for transmitting signals on an uplink access channel and wherein the information varies based upon a probability distribution which increases in density with increasing time.

  • Patent number: 8213380
Abstract: A method for packet-switched transmission of data. A first base station associated with a first radio cell is used to at least partially transmit data packets in a second sequence to at least one subscriber station by at least one first radio channel. The at least one subscriber station sorts out the received data packets into a first sequence in an intermediate storage unit and the base station associated with the first radio cell is used to derive and/or represent status information relating to the content of the intermediate storage unit in a status memory unit. Transmission of the data packets is relayed from the first to the second radio cell and data packets are transmitted by a base station associated with the second radio cell to the at least one subscriber station by at least one other radio channel. The status information is transferred from the base station associated with the first radio cell to the base station associated with the second radio cell.

  • Patent number: 7894802
Abstract: In a radio communications system having network devices and the at least one subscriber station, each subscriber station has specific capabilities determined by parameter values. Parameters are at least partially combined to form at least one parameter class. A class value is respectively assigned to different combinations of parameter values concerning different parameters within the parameter class. The class value of the parameter class, as well as at least one parameter value, are signaled to at least one network device of the communications system. This reduce the signaling complexity and ensures a high degree of flexibility with regard to the capabilities of the subscriber station(s).

  • Patent number: 7860510
Abstract: The transmission of data is controlled in a radio communication system having a hierarchical network structure. A low-hierarchy device transmits load-based signalling to a high-hierarchy device and the high-hierarchy device caries out control of the transmission capacities of the low-hierarchy device based on the load-based signalling.

  • Patent number: 7742483
Abstract: A method transmits data packets in a radio-communication system. A criterion is associated with a data packet received by a radio station, and a data packet which is correctly received is transmitted to another device and/or protocol layer when the criterion has been met.

  • Patent number: 7369499
Abstract: To transmit data packets between a transmitter and a receiver, the data packets are transmitted in coded from as coding units. The received data packets are stored in coded or uncoded form in the receiver inside a memory. The receiver notifies the transmitter of the capacity utilization of the memory.

  • Patent number: 7177625
Abstract: In a radio communication system with at least one radio network control device, at least one base station is connected to at least one user station by a radio communication interface. The base station(s) and the radio network control device are components of a base station subsystem. The radio network control device is connected to an access device for a core network. The radio network control device and the user station(s) have a service specific key that is preferably valid for several user stations, or in other words, the service specific key is not user specific.

  • Publication number: 20030117995
Abstract: During the determination of the timing advance (TA), the data is transmitted from the first station (MS) without the timing advance in the form of short radio blocks (B1). After determining the timing advance (TA), the data (D), while taking the timing advance into account, is transmitted from the first station (MS) in the form of long radio blocks (B2) which are longer than the short radio blocks (B1). Both the short radio blocks (B1) as well as the long radio blocks (B2) are transmitted from the first station (MS) in the same channel allocated to the connection.
