Patent number: 10937290Abstract: The invention relates to a method of processing a video, including: receiving a video of a scene being monitored; generating a second video, including one or more video frames, which non-photorealistically represents the scene being monitored; analysing at least the video of the scene being monitored to determine the presence of a threat within the scene; and in the event that a threat is detected within the scene, determining metadata in relation to the threat and representing said metadata in the second video.Type: GrantFiled: November 18, 2016Date of Patent: March 2, 2021Assignee: Honeywell International Inc.Inventors: Jörg Tilkin, Yves Neuhaus, Matthew John Naylor

Patent number: 10467871Abstract: A method of distributing data relating to a threat-detection system is provided. The method includes, at a threat-detection information management system, receiving an initialisation request from a central monitoring system, the initialisation request including a client identifier and client data location information relevant to a client site monitored by the central monitoring system. In response to receiving the initialization request, a respond site code is generated and stored with the client identifier and client data location information as a respond site record, after which it is transmitted to the central monitoring system. An operator of the central monitoring system provides this code to a responder system. A verification request is then received from a responder device, the verification request including a respond site code.Type: GrantFiled: February 27, 2015Date of Patent: November 5, 2019Assignee: VSK Electronics NVInventors: Kurt Pattyn, Jörg Tilkin

Patent number: 10148914Abstract: A method and system of intrusion detection, which includes displaying sensing device output data as an image of a field of view of a sensing device. Through interaction with a GUI: a user input defines an image detection area in relation to the image of the field of view, the image detection area being correlated to a detection area to be monitored for intrusion detection. A user input defining a detection vector in the image detection area is received, specifying a predetermined minimum displacement and displacement direction in the field of view. A graphical representation of the vector may be displayed on the image detection area. A target object is detected and tracked through the detection area and it is determined whether the progressive displacement of the target object has a component exceeding the minimum displacement in the direction of the vector.Type: GrantFiled: August 12, 2015Date of Patent: December 4, 2018Assignee: VSK Electronics NVInventors: Matthew Naylor, Jörg Tilkin, Gerdy Maelbrancke, Philippe Cornez, Domenico de Lellis, Luc Roels, Philippe Pignatta, Ali Bas, Eniko Palfi

Patent number: 9984559Abstract: An intrusion detection system comprises at least two detectors. Each detector is configured to produce a detection output. At least one information module is configured to produce metadata that relates to the performance of one or more of the at least two detectors. An analysis module is configured to produce a combined alarm signal. The combined alarm signal is a function of the plurality of detection outputs from the at least two detectors and the metadata. The metadata may include information relating to adverse conditions that reduce detection performance of one or more of the detectors. The at least two detectors preferably include at least one video motion detector and a passive infrared detector.Type: GrantFiled: March 3, 2015Date of Patent: May 29, 2018Assignee: VSK Electronics NVInventors: Matthew Naylor, Gerdy Maelbrancke, Thomas Goulet, Jörg Tilkin, Philippe Cornez, Federico Montagni

Publication number: 20150249807Abstract: A method and system of intrusion detection, which includes displaying sensing device output data as one or more images of a field of view of a sensing device (14.1, 14.2, 14.3). Through interaction with a graphical user interface: a user input to define and display an image detection area in relation to the one or more images of the field of view is received, wherein the image detection area is correlated to a detection area to be monitored by the sensing device (14.1, 14.2, 14.3) for intrusion detection. One or more user inputs that define a detection vector in the image detection area are received, the detection vector specifying a predetermined minimum displacement and direction of displacement in the field of view to be monitored. A graphical representation of the detection vector may be displayed on the image detection area.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 3, 2015Publication date: September 3, 2015Inventors: Matthew Naylor, Jörg Tilkin, Gerdy Maelbrancke, Philippe Cornez, Domenico de Lellis, Luc Roels, Philippe Pignatta, Ali Bas, Eniko Palfi
