  • Patent number: 7239640
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for receiving and transmitting asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) cell streams over a bus. The invention provides a method for receiving ATM cells in a host from a client over a bus, comprising the steps of determining whether an ATM cell in a first storage device within the client is ready to be transferred over the bus to a second storage device within the host, preventing overflow of the second storage device by calculating a first available cell space in the second storage device as a function of a write value, a read value image and a size value of the second storage device, and transferring an ATM cell from the first storage device to the second storage device.

  • Patent number: 7181559
Abstract: An interrupt handling technique is provided that may allow for sharing level sensitive interrupts in systems where interrupts are message based, i.e., edge triggered. An interrupt input unit is provided for receiving level sensitive interrupt requests and generating request occurrence signals therefrom. An edge detection unit generates start signals for edge triggered interrupt messages on the basis of the request occurrence signals. An interrupt termination detection unit receives termination signals each indicating that an interrupt routine relating to a previous edge triggered interrupt message has terminated. The interrupt input unit is controlled to output a request occurrence signal in response to a received termination signal if a previously received level sensitive interrupt request is still active. That is, a second edge triggered interrupt message may be generated.

  • Patent number: 7047328
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus and a method for accessing memories having a time-variant response over a PCI bus by using two-stage DMA transfers. The invention provides a method for executing a read request over a PCI bus by transferring the requested data from a main memory of a PCI card to a device located on the PCI bus, comprising the steps of obtaining an access request from a read access queue, transferring, by a first DMA transfer, the requested data from the main memory to a buffer memory on the PCI card, and transferring, by a second DMA transfer, the data from the buffer memory to the device.

  • Patent number: 4707614
Abstract: A gas measuring and warning apparatus is disclosed having a testing tube through which the gas that is to be detected flows. The apparatus also has a photoelectric scanner for detecting the migrating reaction zone. The configuration of the apparatus is simplified and the resolution capacity is improved. This is achieved in that the photoelectric scanner includes an image forming lens system which forms an image of the length of the reaction zone on a photosensitive array of identical sensor elements, the reaction zone being illuminated by at least one light source. For emitting a measured signal, the evaluation circuit is controlled by the number of sensor elements that are located within the imaged length of the reaction zone.

  • Patent number: 4440166
Abstract: A closed cycle respirator is disclosed which includes a respiration air cycle having a breathing bag and a carbon dioxide absorber with connecting lines between the breathing bag and absorber and to a junction adapted for use by the user of the equipment. A pressurized oxygen bottle is provided with a controllable valve for supplying oxygen to the cycle in case the oxygen drops below a selected value in the breathing bag. In case of failure of the controllable valve, a separate oxygen supply connection is provided to the breathing cycle with a valve which senses a reduction of pressure in the breathing cycle and opens the connection to the oxygen bottle for emergency supply of oxygen to the cycle.
