  • Publication number: 20220327485
Abstract: A method can include receiving a request for a read receipt by a first user of a predetermined user group for a session. The request for a read receipt can refer to an information segment of the thread supplied with a tag by the first user. The tag can include a predetermined character string identifying at least one second user from whom the first user requests the read receipt for the tagged information segment. The second user can be identified in a database, a notification containing the information segment to at least one second user can be sent and an acknowledgment message from the second user that he has read the notification containing the information segment can then be received for assigning a read receipt to the information segment as soon as the at least one second user has read the notification.

  • Publication number: 20210160290
Abstract: A method and apparatus for performing a communication and collaboration session. The performance of the session can include a first participant selecting, during the ongoing communication and collaboration session, a second participant of the communication session with whom a follow-up conversation needs to be held after the termination of the ongoing communication and collaboration session and sending, during the ongoing communication and collaboration session, a notification about the intended follow-up conversation to the second participant. After the session is terminated, a communication line between the first participant and the second participant can be automatically established. A communication server that can host the session and support the automatic establishment of the follow-up conversation communication connection can be incorporated into a system or apparatus that can utilize an embodiment of the method.

  • Patent number: 7974625
Abstract: A method for operating a wireless communication connection comprising a first device using a first standard for LANs and providing a first radio coverage area, a second device operating according to a second standard and providing a second radio coverage area, the first and the second coverage areas overlapping, a mobile device operable according to the first and the second standards and a central interface device between the LAN and a switched telephone network, a voice data transmission according to the first standard is prioritized by the mobile device. A measurement is performed and a message including the measurement result and topology information relating to the LAN is transmitted to the central device. The central device uses the message to decide for a changeover of the operation of an existing connection from the first area to the second area, the mobile device initiating the changeover based on the decision.

  • Patent number: 7961718
Abstract: A connection addressed via a directory number is set up to a terminal by setting up a partial connection to a communication device, with determined additional information being conveyed to the communication device as part of the partial connection. As a result of said partial connection and depending on the additional information conveyed, the partial connection is further switched to the terminal by the communication device.

  • Patent number: 7898107
Abstract: There is disclosed a communication system comprising a distribution element, which is coupled to a power supply unit and to which a plurality of network devices can be connected. Each network device that is connected to the distribution element comprises at least one network element and each network device is supplied with energy and messages by the distribution element. A sub-assembly that is located in each network device is configured to determine a parameter that characterizes the network from a network of passive components, said parameter allowing an indication of the energy requirements of the network device to be obtained, each of the network elements of the network device having at least one passive component, which forms an integral part of the network.

  • Patent number: 7088709
Abstract: A communication system has a computer device, a telecommunication terminal apparatus, and a switch that can be connected to a public telephone network. The computer device and the telecommunication terminal apparatus are connected via a first bus system, and the telecommunication terminal apparatus is connected to the switch via an interface. In a first operating mode of the telecommunication terminal apparatus, data is received from the switch and rerouted to a first bus system and to the computer device. The computer has a processor to process data received by the telecommunication terminal apparatus, and forwards this data to the telecommunication terminal apparatus via the first bus system and the data are further transmitted by the telecommunication terminal apparatus. The first bus system has a greater bandwidth than a second bus system that connects individual internal assemblies of the telecommunication terminal apparatus.

  • Patent number: 5883896
Abstract: The arrangement is for coupling optional additional equipment to terminal equipment of private branch exchanges via an additional equipment interface, particularly according to the ETSI standard. The terminal equipment has an option bus via which arbitrary additional equipment can be connected. An additional equipment driver specific to the additional equipment and that represents the additional equipment interface is provided in the private branch exchange. The terminal equipment provides a communication channel between the additional equipment and the additional equipment driver in the private branch exchange via which the additional equipment and the additional equipment driver communicate according to a protocol specific to the additional equipment.

  • Patent number: 5793860
Abstract: The method is for controlling performance features of an exchange. In step a) a static table of performance feature object codes, having corresponding code values, is transmitted from the exchange to a terminal equipment during an equipment initialization. The static table of performance feature object codes is specific for the exchange and contains all performance features available in the exchange. Information for the specification of the performance feature object is allocated to each performance feature object code value. In step b) the static table of performance feature object codes is stored in the terminal equipment. In step c) a dynamic table of performance feature object codes, which correspond to the performance features that can be activated in the respectively current switching-oriented state of the terminal equipment, is transmitted from the exchange to the terminal equipment.
