  • Patent number: 7777026
Abstract: A process for producing aminoalkyl-containing guar derivative is disclosed. The process entails a) dispersing a member selected from the group consisting of guar and guar derivative in a mixture of a water-miscible aprotic solvent and water and b) alkalizing the member with a base to obtain a mixture containing an alkalized member and c) etherifying the mixture with an amino-containing reagent to obtained an etherified mixture and d) optionally neutralizing the etherified mixture to obtain a material system containing a reaction product and e) optionally filtering the material system to obtain the reaction product and f) optionally washing the reaction product and g) optionally drying the reaction product referred to in f) and h) optionally grinding the reaction product. The product thus obtained is suitable for producing hair conditioners and flocculation aids.

  • Patent number: 7636258
Abstract: In accordance with embodiments of the invention, there are provided integrated circuits, memory controller, a method for determining a level for programming or erasing a memory segment, and a method for determining a wear level score for a memory segment. In an embodiment of the invention, a method for determining a level for programming or erasing a memory segment is provided, wherein a first level for programming or erasing a memory segment is determined as a function of an initial program/erase level. Furthermore, a first updated level is determined for a subsequent program/erase operation of the memory segment and a second level for programming or erasing the memory segment subsequent to programming or erasing the memory segment is determined using the first level, wherein the second level is determined as a function of the first updated level.

  • Patent number: 6559300
Abstract: A water-soluble, biodegradable hydroxyalkyl cellulose-2-hydroxycarboxylic acid ester is disclosed. The hydroxyalkyl cellulose-2-hydroxycarboxylic acid ester has: (i) a molecular degree of substitution of the hydroxyalkyl group of less than 1.5 (MShydroxyalkyl<1.5); and (ii) a molecular degree of substitution of the 2-hydroxycarboxylic acid group of greater than 0.4 and less than 3 (0.4<MS2-hydroxycarboxylic acid<3). Also described is a method of preparing the hydroxyalkyl cellulose-2-hydroxycarboxylic acid ester, and methods of using it, e.g., as a consistency regulator in at least one of foodstuffs, cosmetics, building materials, paints and strippers.
