  • Patent number: 6945811
Abstract: A clamping spring device for an elastic clamp for attaching at least one electrical conductor includes a support and a clamping leg at an end of a spring leg. The support includes a freestanding edge. The clamping leg projects toward the support at an acute angle so as to form a receiving space between the clamping leg and the support. The receiving space narrows in a conductor insertion direction from a conductor insertion side toward a clamping point and is configured to receive the at least one electrical conductor inserted in a lengthwise direction. The clamping leg includes a clamping edge for clamping the electrical conductor between the clamping edge and the support at the clamping point. In the clamping position, the clamping leg is offset from the freestanding edge so that, when clamped, the at least one electrical conductor is bent around the freestanding edge, providing an interlocking effect.

  • Patent number: 6827591
Abstract: An electrical device such as a ballast for fluorescent lamps and including a housing, a terminal, and a catch element for connecting the terminal to the housing, the catch element including a catch leg for connecting the terminal to the catch element and for connecting the catch element to the housing. Accordingly, the electrical device is designed such that the individual terminal sites of the terminal have minimal positional tolerance so that the terminal can be wired with an automatic installation machine without the danger of misinsertions.

  • Patent number: 6805576
Abstract: The device is used for electrically connecting at least one contact point on a first circuit board to at least one contact point on a second circuit board positioned neighboring the first circuit board using at least one conductor provided with an insulating sheath. In order to be able to construct and handle such a device simply, cutting contacts are positioned fixed on a relevant circuit board at contact points and have cutters implemented at contact points for contacting the conductor without stripping. A housing receives the conductor and tightly encloses it and has a conductor insertion opening on a long side thereof which extends over a respective conductor length. Guide contours on both sides on inner sides adjoining the conductor insertion opening run transversely to a housing lengthwise direction and are recessed relative to lateral conductor bearing surfaces on the inner sides and are tailored to a recess of the contact legs which are provided with the cutters of the cutting contacts.

  • Patent number: 6319046
Abstract: An electrical connection unit including a housing with at least one terminal for receiving either an insulated lead or a stripped lead and at least one metal part having a cutting element and a spring element. The cutting element and the spring element are located along a longitudinal extension of the lead thereby minimizing the height of the electrical connection unit such that it may be used in confined spaces. In accordance with one embodiment, the cutting element and the spring element coincide in space such that they are substantially coplanar to further reduce the size of the electrical connection unit. In accordance with one embodiment of the present invention, the metal part serves a dual function as a cutting element and also as a spring element and has an essentially box-shaped configuration. The housing may also include catch projections and/or attachment cross pieces to retain the metal part in the housing. Furthermore, a mountable thrustor and /or latchable cover may also be provided.
