The invention is also directed to a method by which, using a display according to the invention with integrated matrix sensor, an initial recording is transformed into a corrected recording having an at least approximately isotropic and high contrast.

The faces define a coupling-in surface for light emitted from a light source in a limited angular range around a preferred direction. Due to the directed angle of incidence, light entering the light guide is totally internally reflected at the faces. A mirror layer between the sensors and the guide reflects some light back into the light guide and transmits other light. Light exiting the guide is homogenized dependent upon a distance to the light source.
