Patent number: 10514453Abstract: A radar device for transmitting a signal in a frequency range with a control system and an oscillator. An input of the oscillator is connected to the control system via a converter. The oscillator can be activated by the control system to generate the signal and the signal generated by the oscillator can be tapped at an output of the oscillator, with at least one transmission antenna for transmitting the signal at the output of the oscillator. The transmission antenna is connected to the output of the oscillator, with at least one receive channel for receiving a receive signal, for processing the receive signal and for forwarding the processed receive signal to the control system. The receive channel features at least one receive antenna and a mixer for mixing the receive signal with the signal at the output of the oscillator. The mixer is connected to the output of the oscillator. A frequency divider is provided that feeds signals from the oscillator to a frequency counter.Type: GrantFiled: March 3, 2016Date of Patent: December 24, 2019Assignee: Hella GmbH & Co. KGaAInventors: Thomas Hesse, Jürgen Köhler

Patent number: 6705667Abstract: A load-bearing structure for motor vehicles has a load-bearing floor of lightweight construction merging at its front in a footwell region into an upwardly projecting end wall. The structure also has a front-end structure which forms a crumple zone, is supported in the region of the end wall, and includes lightweight structural panels running in the longitudinal and transverse directions of the vehicle. The footwell region is bounded laterally and at the top by a panel arrangement of lightweight construction which, together with the floor and the end wall, forms a supporting box for the front-end structure.Type: GrantFiled: January 14, 2002Date of Patent: March 16, 2004Assignee: DaimlerChrysler AGInventors: Hans-Georg Bartesch, Karl-Heinz Baumann, Ulrich Bruhnke, Rainer Justen, Jürgen Kohler

Patent number: 6601873Abstract: The invention relates to a motor vehicle with a supporting structure provided at one end of a safety passenger compartment with a crumple zone and two wheel arches located in the vicinity of the crumple zone on the sides. A wheel is located in each respective wheel arch held by wheel guide members. A deflecting area extends diagonally to a central lengthwise axis of the motor vehicle for the associated wheel, between the safety passenger compartment and the rolling circumference of the two wheels in the straight-ahead position of the deflecting surface for the associated wheel against which the wheel moved by the crash-produced deformation of the crumple zone against the deflecting surface is deflected past the end of the safety passenger compartment. The deflecting surfaces are diagonally downwardly directed deflecting ramps by which the wheels are directed toward the safety passenger compartment and below the floor of the motor vehicle as the crumple zone collapses.Type: GrantFiled: April 17, 2000Date of Patent: August 5, 2003Assignee: DaimlerChrysler AGInventors: Hans-Georg Bartesch, Kark-Heinz Baumann, Ulrich Bruhnke, Rainer Justen, Jürgen Kohler

Publication number: 20020007933Abstract: A heat exchanger arrangement on a front carrying structure of a motor vehicle, with a passage orifice for the cooling-air stream which is largely overlapped by a heat exchanger module of the arrangement and which extends in a vehicle transverse plane and is delimited on two mutually opposite sides by wall regions of the carrying structure, the wall regions belong to the deformable zone of the forward structure. The heat exchanger module is mounted on the front carrying structure in such a way that, in the event of head-on collisions subjecting the region of the passage orifice to stress, said heat exchanger module, while absorbing impact energy, co-operates reinforcingly with the wall regions of the carrying structure.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 15, 2001Publication date: January 24, 2002Inventors: Karl-Heinz Baumann, Ulrich Bruhnke, Juergen Kohler, Uwe Krempels, Hansjoerg Schinke
