  • Patent number: 8308909
Abstract: A sheet-forming system includes a separating wedge with a separating wedge protrusion in a range of 0.05 to 3.0 of the largest single gap width of at least two nozzle chambers. The separating wedge includes two separating wedge areas, each having one separating wedge angle, an upstream separating wedge starting area and a downstream separating wedge ending area. The two separating wedge angles assume different angles. The separating wedge starting angle of the upstream separating wedge initial area assumes a greater angle than the separating wedge ending angle of the downstream separating wedge end area. At least one separating wedge surface is a nonplanar transitional area between the two separating wedge areas. The fibrous material suspension free jet formed from at least two fibrous material suspension streams has a free jet length of 100 to 500 mm. The forming roll has a diameter of 1,200 to 2,500 mm.

  • Patent number: 7332060
Abstract: Twin-wire former for producing a fibrous web. The former includes two endless wire belts arranged to form a twin-wire zone, a dewatering element, and a headbox positioned at an angle relative to an imaginary first horizontal plane. The twin-wire zone includes a first section in which the two wire belts are arranged to run over the dewatering element. The two wire belts are further positioned to form a wedge-like inlet gap that is structured and arranged to receive a fibrous stock suspension directly from the headbox. Additional dewatering elements are utilized. The twin-wire zone includes a second section in which the two wire belts along with the fibrous web formed between the two wire belts are arranged to run downward over the additional dewatering elements. This Abstract is not intended to define the invention disclosed in the specification, nor intended to limit the scope of the invention in any way.

  • Publication number: 20060027350
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing a fibrous material web (1) from at least one fibrous material suspension (2) having a fibrous material suspension thickness (FSD). The inventive method involves the use of at least one revolving wire (4) on which the fibrous material suspension (2) is placed with a fibrous material suspension height (FSH) by means of at least one headbox (3), and which is guided over a row of draining elements (5, 6, 11, 12, 12.1, 12.2, 14).

  • Patent number: 6962646
Abstract: Multi-layer headbox for a paper machine that includes a plurality of nozzle chambers having outlet gaps located at nozzle chamber ends. Each of the plurality of nozzle chambers are assigned to different layers, and at least one of the plurality of nozzle chambers has a length in a flow direction that is different from a length of at least one other of the plurality of nozzle chambers. The instant abstract is neither intended to define the invention disclosed in this specification nor intended to limit the scope of the invention in any way.

  • Patent number: 6875309
Abstract: The invention relates to a twin wire former (1) for producing a fibrous web (4), in particular a paper, cardboard or tissue web, from a fibrous suspension according to the generic terms of claim 1. The twin wire former (1) is characterized in that, the two wire belts (2, 3) run upwards after a passing a first deviation device (10), forming an angle (?) relative to an imaginary second horizontal plane (H2), in such a way that the upper vertex (15.SO) of the second deviation device (15) lies above the lower vertex (10.SU) of the first deviation device (10), and that the angle (?) relative to the imaginary first plane (H1) runs downwards.

  • Patent number: 6521091
Abstract: A twin wire former in a machine for the production of a fibrous material web, specifically a paper or cardboard web, includes two rotating continuous wires which meet in the area of a simultaneously rotating dewatering element, thereby forming a stock inlet gap; and a headbox over which the fiber stock suspension is fed into the stock inlet gap. The stock consistency C of the fiber stock suspension in the headbox, as well as the basis weight F of the fiber stock suspension supplied to the stock inlet gap is selected according to the calculation: F/(C*1000)>0.025 whereby the basis weight F is stated in g/m2 and the stock consistency C is stated in g/l.

  • Patent number: 6372092
Abstract: Headbox of a paper machine and a process of supplying a material suspension, The headbox includes at least one material suspension supplying system, and a headbox nozzle that includes a first dividing wall having a machine width and a second dividing wall having a machine width. The first and second dividing walls are arranged to form a first path in which a total nozzle cross-section steadily and continually decreases in a material flow direction and to form a second path, arranged to follow the first path, in which a total nozzle cross-section continually increases in the material flow direction. The process includes includes accelerating the material suspension along a first path having a total nozzle cross-section that steadily and continually decreases in a material flow direction, and decelerating the material suspension along a second path having a total nozzle cross-section that continually increases in the material flow direction. The second path is arranged to follow the first path.

  • Patent number: 5266167
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for roll cooling in paper machines with soft smoothing mechanisms. The object of the invention is to protect the soft roll from damage without having to increase the extent of edge trimming of the paper web. This is achieved in that the parts of the soft roll which respectively project beyond the width of the paper web are cooled by the application of a thin and sharply bounded water film. The corresponding devices for generating the water films are mounted in carriages which are displaceable along a transverse beam parallel to the roll.
