  • Patent number: 9010245
Abstract: A method of transferring a transfer foil having an image forming layer through a transfer gap of a printing press under a foil cycle timing control that is selectively changeable such that it can be turned on, turned off, or is adjustable in its frequency and period of operation as a function of operating parameters of the press.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 3, 2009
Date of Patent: April 21, 2015
    Assignee: manroland sheetfed GmbH

  • Publication number: 20110214581
Abstract: The invention relates to a unit for cold film transfer in a printing press. In order to improve the transfer process, a control device is used to control the film transfer, said control device adjusting the color values and the coating parameters of the transferred films.

  • Patent number: 8011411
Abstract: For transferring an image-forming layer from a transfer foil a printing sheet, an adhesive layer is first applied to the sheet to be printed. The transfer foil provided with the image-forming layer is guided past the printing sheet under pressure, in a coating module (2), such that the image-forming layer adheres to the adhesive and an image is created. The present invention provides a foil transfer device that includes a substrate on the press cylinder that has a reduced adhesiveness relative to the transfer foil.

  • Publication number: 20090226232
Abstract: The invention relates to a sheet-fed printing press, having at least one offset printing unit, varnishing unit and/or flexographic printing unit for printing printed sheets with at least one printing image. The printing press has at least one inspection device for detecting and evaluating each printing image which is printed onto the printed sheets in each offset printing unit, varnishing unit or flexographic printing unit. The printing press also includes at least one inkjet printing device and/or laser printing device which is integrated into the sheet-fed printing press for printing printed sheets with at least one further printing image. Each further printing image which is printed onto the printed sheets by each inkjet printing device and/or laser printing device also can be detected and evaluated by each inspection device.

  • Patent number: 7305921
Abstract: In order to process inexpensive printing materials in connection with the processing of an extremely wide range of coating media, such as solvent-containing printing inks, and, moreover, in connection with variable format configuration and extremely flexible processing processes, provision is made to couple a web-fed rotary press and a sheet-fed rotary press to each other. For this purpose, a transfer assembly 7 in the form of a roll-sheet feeder is arranged between the presses.
