  • Patent number: 8037341
Abstract: A system and associated method for determining a recovery time for a resource in a heterogeneous computing environment comprising interdependent resources. A graph for the resource representing all sequence dependencies and all group relations are created. The recovery time may be a cumulative startup time or a cumulative shutdown time of the resource considering interdependencies of the resource to other resources. The recovery time for all support resources having sequence dependencies with the resource is calculated and each node representing the support resources are removed from the graph. Then the recovery time for all member resources left in the graph that have group relations with the resource is calculated per a group type of the resource. The recovery time for the resource is a sum of the recovery time of all support resources, the recovery time of all member resources, and a unit recovery time of the resource.

  • Patent number: 7984912
Abstract: A gasket has sealing layer(s) with beads which are assigned to passage opening(s), and stopper layer(s) with a stopper which limits the resilience of the bead(s). The stopper is composed of a plurality of directly successive ridge-shaped elevations and groove-shaped depressions, both being trapezoidal in cross section and both being formed in on both sides of the stopper layer, with setting angles of the trapezium flanks. The trapezoidal elevations of the one side are situated opposite the trapezoidal depressions of the other side. A cross section (Q1) which is delimited by opposing trapezium flanks which are adjacent to one another is the same or greater than a cross section (Q2) which is delimited between the opposing depressions of the two sides.

  • Patent number: 7930906
Abstract: A slider needle (1) having a partition element (15) clipped through an insertion slit (19) in the needle base body (2). The partition element (15) is shaped such that it can be easily inserted in the needle base body 2, but is still securely held, optionally with some play, as a result of positive engagement. The partition element comprises, preferably as a one-piece component, a spring part (25) and a foot extension (26) interacting with the bottom (17) of the slider slit. Preferably, the foot extension 26 has two sections (27, 28, 27a, 28a) that are bent in opposite directions, either in a transverse or a longitudinal direction of the otherwise flat partition element (15). In the region of the insertion slit (19), the back (18) of the needle base body (2) has an indentation (24) so that the bent over sections (27, 28, 27a, 28a) cannot project beyond the needle back (18).

  • Patent number: 7894602
Abstract: A process and system for generating a pseudo-random number is presented. Input data having entropy is gathered in an Entropy Pool and transformed once by a cryptographic hash function. The transformed data forms the internal state of the pseudo-random number generator. The generator forms the output by applying a second cryptographic hash function to this internal state. Finally, the generator updates the internal state by inputting the current internal state and data from the Entropy Pool into a third cryptographic hash function. The output of the third hash function forms the new internal state of the pseudo-random number generator.

  • Patent number: 7808183
Abstract: An arrangement for the regulation of the electron beam power of an electron gun, which comprises a filament cathode, a block cathode and an anode. Between the filament cathode and the block cathode is applied a first voltage, while between the block cathode and the anode a second voltage is applied. With the aid of a first closed-loop regulated system the filament cathode is regulated to a constant current value, which has a filament temperature sufficient for the maximum beam power of the block cathode. A second closed-loop regulated system, such including a block power regulator, which is acted upon by the difference between instantaneous block power value and nominal block power value, regulates the voltage between the filament cathode and the block cathode.

  • Publication number: 20100169703
Abstract: A system and associated method for determining an incident of a resource in a computing environment. An event pertaining to the resource is processed by a system automation module. The event is represented as an associated event data having parameters of a target state, a target state prior to the event, a current state, and a current state prior to the event. First, the target state is compared to the target state prior to the event to assure that the target state is steady. Wherein a determination that the event is an incident cannot be made after comparing the target state and the current state, the system automation module compares the current state to the current state prior to the event. Upon determining that the event is an incident, the event data is marked and stored in a repository.

  • Publication number: 20100044739
Abstract: The light-radiating semiconductor component has a radiation-emitting semiconductor body and a luminescence conversion element. The semiconductor body emits radiation in the ultraviolet, blue and/or green spectral region and the luminescence conversion element converts a portion of the radiation into radiation of a longer wavelength. This makes it possible to produce light-emitting diodes which radiate polychromatic light, in particular white light, with only a single light-emitting semiconductor body. A particularly preferred luminescence conversion dye is YAG:Ce.
