  • Patent number: 7526371
Abstract: The present invention concerns a method for the position-dependent control of a mobile element in a motor vehicle, wherein the element is movable in a drive movement by an electrically powered positioning device, wherein the positioning device has several different operational modes, and characteristics of a drive signal of the positing device, in particular a waviness of a drive current, are used for the determination of the position of the element. According to the invention, a characteristic variable, which influences the drive movement of the positioning device, and/or a specific value, which characterizes the positioning device, are evaluated for the determination of an error value of the determined position of the mobile element, and that the operating modes of the positioning device are controlled in dependence of the determined error value.

  • Patent number: 6705665
Abstract: An electromotively activated locking system for a motor vehicle door includes an outer door opener, at least one inner door opener, a lock mechanism that can be regulated by a motor drive and an element separating the wet and dry areas. The lock parts of the primary lock mechanism (3) are located in the damp area. An electrical device for determining the locking state of the primary and secondary lock mechanisms (3, 5) and the motor drive (2) are located in the dry area. For controlling the locking system, a logic alignment is carried out between the locking states of the primary locking mechanism and the locking states of the secondary locking mechanism and certain lock functions are then released or blocked for control in dependence on this logic alignment.

  • Patent number: 6515377
Abstract: A circuit and a process are used to control operation of an electromagnetic drive arrangement for power window lifters, sun roofs, or door locks of a motor vehicle. After recognition of a failure of functions or parts thereof or electrical or electronic components, emergency operation is initiated. The operation of electromagnetic drive arrangement is enabled by a switching element, and the control level for the control of the switching element is verified by the running of a safety routine before possible emergency operation.

  • Patent number: 6354653
Abstract: A vehicle door has a door outside panel and a door inside panel provided with a large surface area cut-out recess which is covered by a support plate in a sealed manner, so that the door body is divided into a wet cell lying between the door outside panel and the support plate, and a dry cell lying between the support plate and an adjoining door inside trim. There are electrical and/or electronic components prefitted on the support plate, and electrical plug connectors which are arranged on the support plate on the dry cell side. Further, switch elements are mounted on the dry cell side of the support plate for manually controlling the electrical and/or electrical components. No electrical connection exists between the switch elements and the door inside trim.

  • Patent number: 6240618
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the manufacture of a prefabricated motor vehicle door module and is directed to improving the manufacturing efficiency of complex technical systems with extensive cabling. The method for manufacturing the prefabricated motor vehicle door module with an electronics unit and several electrical components, such as a window regulator motor, central locking, mirror adjustment and heating, switches, lights, speakers, and a side bag, comprises fitting out of a support plate with the electrical components provided for a specific vehicle door and the cabling of the door by means of electrical leads; wherein the fitting out step is carried out in a main assembly line; wherein at least a part of the electrical leads is prefabricated as individual lead connections in a secondary cable production line in accurate sequence for the door module production in a production device and are mounted independently of each other directly on the door module in a main assembly line.

  • Patent number: 6236176
Abstract: There is a method for controlling the movement of electrically operated assemblies, more particularly of window lifters, sliding roofs or the like in motor vehicles. The assembly has a setting device is connected to a drive device. At least in one partial area of the displacement path, the displacement force is restricted to a predetermined maximum value. A parameter is proportional to the displacement force of the electrically operated assembly. Upon reaching a boundary value corresponding to the maximum value of the displacement force over a predetermined time span, the parameter is regulated to a value corresponding to this boundary value.

  • Patent number: 6208101
Abstract: A method for restricting the surplus force of an electrically controlled assembly operated by a foreign force, which can be used with particular advantage in connection with window lifters which are fitted with an anti-jam detection device. The method is characterized by a high automatic adaptation to the markedly fluctuating external conditions to which a window lifter is subjected, and by the compensation of system-conditioned fluctuations. The position of the assembly is continuously determined during the displacement process and at least one measured value correlated with the displacement force of the assembly is recorded in the inlet area of the stop position. This measured value is increased through the electronics unit by a predetermined amount and defined as a switch-off criterion so that the drive is switched off when this criterion is exceeded or understepped.
