  • Patent number: 11901594
Abstract: A method for operating a motor vehicle includes the steps of registering a maximum dynamics requirement and adapting the idling operating mode of a fuel cell system of the motor vehicle on the basis of the maximum dynamics requirement. In the first maximum dynamics requirement, lower dynamics are required than in the second maximum dynamics requirement. In the first maximum dynamics requirement, the fuel cell system is operated in a first idling operating mode. In the second maximum dynamics requirement the fuel cell system is operated in a second idling operating mode. The fuel cell system is operated more efficiently in the first idling operating mode than in the second idling operating mode.

  • Publication number: 20160240869
Abstract: A motor vehicle including a fuel cell system having multiple fuel cells that are stacked into a fuel cell stack and a first water cooling circuit for cooling the fuel cell stack. The first water cooling circuit has a water tank system with a first water tank, a first water delivery device that is arranged between the first water tank and the fuel cell stack and a water separator that is arranged between the fuel cell stack and the first water tank. The fuel cell system furthermore has a first control device. The first control device is equipped to regulate a filling level of the first water tank as a function of signals and/or data of the motor vehicle state and/or of the motor vehicle surroundings.

  • Publication number: 20120160335
Abstract: A pressure retention valve with integrated valve is disclosed. The pressure retention valve with integrated valve includes a housing; an outer piston positioned in the housing; a main seal between the outer piston and the housing; an inner piston positioned in the outer piston, the inner piston having a bore containing a valve; a spring between the housing and a top of the outer piston; an ambient bore in the housing above the main seal; an outlet in the housing below the main seal; and a vessel connection in the housing adjacent to the bore of the inner piston. Methods of supplying fuel to a gas consuming system using the pressure retention valve are also described.

  • Publication number: 20120132301
Abstract: A method of fueling with compressed gas is described. In one embodiment, the method includes providing a supply of compressed gas; providing a storage tank with a fueling line, and a nozzle in the fueling line, the nozzle movable between at least a flow reduction position and a full fuel flow position; initiating fueling from the supply of compressed gas with the nozzle in the flow reduction position for a predetermined time or until a minimum pressure is obtained; when the predetermined time or the minimum pressure is obtained, moving the nozzle to the full fuel flow position; and fueling the storage tank from the supply of compressed gas with the nozzle in the full fuel flow position until fueling is completed. A vehicle incorporating the nozzle is also disclosed.
