  • Publication number: 20130323449
Abstract: The invention relates to the use of fatty acid esters, either unsaturated or saturated, as plasticizers for rubbers, especially for NBR and CR rubbers. The plasticizers used according to the invention are safe, in contrast to the conventionally used toxic phthalates such as DEHP and DBP, and can be obtained from renewable raw materials, especially from vegetable oils such as palm oil. For rubbers comprising these plasticizers, there is a multitude of possible uses in the rubber technology sector, especially as a material for cable sheathing, hoses, seals, membranes, shoe soles, floor coverings, damping devices and the like.

  • Patent number: 6699937
Abstract: The invention relates to rubber compounds that contain rubbers polymerized in solution with a secondary hydroxyl group content of 0.1 to 5 wt.- % that are not more than 4 carbon atoms away from the respective side chain end. The invention also relates to mixtures thereof with fillers, optionally additional rubbers and rubber auxiliary agents and the vulcanized rubbers produced thereof. The inventive rubber compounds are useful for producing highly reinforced, abrasion-resistant molded bodies, especially for producing tires that are characterized by excellent non-skid properties on wet surfaces.

Date of Patent: March 2, 2004
    Assignee: Bayer Aktiengesellschaft
    Inventors: Thomas Scholl, Jürgen Trimbach
  • Patent number: 6696523
Abstract: The present invention relates to rubber mixtures containing diene rubber with a concentration of primary hydroxyl groups of 0.1 to 2 wt. % and a glass transition temperature of −120° to −50° C. and their mixtures with fillers, optionally further rubbers and rubber auxiliary substances and vulcanisates prepared therefrom. Rubber mixtures according to the invention are suitable for producing highly reinforced, abrasion-resistant moulded items, in particular for producing tires treads which have a particularly high resistance to wet skidding.

  • Patent number: 6521698
Abstract: The present invention relates to rubbers based on diolefins with a particular lateral polyether group content, mixtures thereof with fillers and the use of said rubbers and mixtures for the preparation of rubber vulcanizates with improved tear propagation resistance and favorable dynamic damping. More particularly, the rubbers according to the present invention are suitable for the manufacture of highly reinforced rubber molded articles, particularly for tires of vehicles, which are used both in road traffic and off-road.
