  • Publication number: 20240358250
Abstract: The technology relates to video laryngoscopes with improved illumination. An example laryngoscope includes a display; a handle; an arm extending distally from the handle; a camera positioned at a distal end of the arm; a light source positioned at the distal end of the arm; and a unibody plug positioned at the distal end of the arm, the unibody plug. The unibody plug includes a light guide formed of a solid transparent material having an entry surface at a proximal end of the light guide and an exit surface at a distal end of the light guide, wherein the entry surface is adjacent the light source; and a frame that defines an air gap around at least 70% of a length of the light guide.

  • Publication number: 20230248235
Abstract: A video laryngoscope including a display portion, a handle, and a camera assembly. The display portion includes a housing having a patient-facing side and a user-facing side. A display screen is disposed on the user-facing side and configured to display images captured by the camera assembly. An infrared window is disposed at another position on the video laryngoscope, such as on the patient-facing side of the housing. Infrared signals for pairing the video laryngoscope to other devices, such as monitors or external display screens, may be transmitted through the infrared window. For instance, an infrared receiver of the video laryngoscope may receive infrared signals through the infrared window and/or an infrared transmitter of the video laryngoscope may transmit infrared signals through the infrared window.

  • Publication number: 20220257092
Abstract: A laryngoscope system includes a light source configured to emit light, a camera configured to obtain image data, and a blade having a channel sized to fit over the light source and the camera. The channel includes a closed end surface, a lateral surface, and a texture or a coating applied to the lateral surface.

  • Publication number: 20210051426
Abstract: An auditory prosthesis includes a fixation system manufactured in whole or in part from a deformable material, such as a viscoelastic material. The viscoelastic material responds viscously to loads applied over an extended period of time. Thus, the material is able to accommodate growth of a recipient's anatomy without becoming disconnected or misaligned from any attachment points. This allows the device to accommodate growth of a recipient over time.

  • Publication number: 20120215055
Abstract: A transducer comprising a main and an auxiliary diaphragm. Each of these diaphragms are coupled to opposite sides of a central shaft located internal to the transducer. Further, the diaphragms may have similar thicknesses and areas. A difference in the pressure internal to the transducer and external to the transducer may result in a force being exerted onto the diaphragm on each side. These forces are transferred from the diaphragms to the central shaft where they may cancel out each other.
