Abstract: A power split transmission includes a first power branch having a continuously variable transmission and a separable second power branch. The two power branches are combined again in a summation gear and a device connects or disconnects the second branch when a synchronous condition is present when changing from an initial driving range into a target driving range. A control device for controlling and adjusting the transmission ratio of the first power branch is connected to the continuously variable transmission. A predicting device for predicting an efficiency ?v of the first power branch in a target driving range is connected to the control device.
