  • Publication number: 20240344627
Abstract: A valve assembly is provided comprising: an air supply port; an air delivery port; a guide sleeve; and a piston positioned in the guide sleeve and movable between first and second positions to allow air to flow from the air supply port to the air delivery port, wherein a gap is defined between a minor outer diameter of a shaft of the piston and the guide sleeve; wherein the shaft defines an inner bore for passage of air and comprises a plurality of raised surfaces around a circumference of the shaft that narrows the gap and thereby reduces tilting of the piston as it moves in the guide sleeve between the first and second positions. Other embodiments are provided.

  • Publication number: 20240293156
Abstract: Bone anchor assemblies and related methods are disclosed herein that can provide for improved fixation of a primary bone anchor. A bone anchor assembly can include a wing with a distal portion that can define a plurality of auxiliary bone anchor openings. Each auxiliary bone anchor opening can receive an auxiliary bone anchor that can augment fixation of a primary bone anchor of the bone anchor assembly. The plurality of auxiliary bone anchor openings can be oriented such that, when the wing is coupled to a primary bone anchor assembly of a vertebral level in a first configuration, at least one auxiliary bone anchor can be driven to extend across a facet plane of the vertebral level and, when coupled in a second configuration, each auxiliary bone anchor received within the wing can be driven to conform to the vertebral level.

  • Publication number: 20240023998
Abstract: Connectors are disclosed herein that can be used to attach a rod to a bone anchor assembly that is already occupied by a separate rod. Various ways of attaching the connector to the bone anchor assembly are disclosed, including arrangements in which the connector is locked to the bone anchor, arrangements in which the connector is constrained in one or more degrees of freedom relative to the bone anchor, arrangements in which the connector is adjustable in one or more degrees of freedom relative to the bone anchor, and arrangements that include a spherical articulation joint. In some embodiments, attachment of the connector to a bone anchor can be aided with the use of a positioner. The geometry of the connector can be selected to minimize the offset between a first rod received in the bone anchor assembly and a second rod received in the connector, for example using an angled or curved rod recess and/or a fastener, or set screw, that is offset from the center of the rod or angled relative to the bone anchor.
