  • Patent number: 10753801
Abstract: Methods of performing dual-comb interferometry using a dual-comb interferometer and methods of characterizing a volume using dual-comb interferogram data are described.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 5, 2017
Date of Patent: August 25, 2020
    Assignee: UNIVERSITÉ LAVAL
Inventors: Nicolas Bourbeau Hébert, Jérôme Genest, Jean-Daniel Deschênes, David Lancaster
  • Publication number: 20200006912
Abstract: An optical plural-comb generator comprising a plurality of mode-locked lasers that are mechanically coupled and optically independent. The optical plural-comb generator comprises an optical combiner optically coupled to an output of each of the plurality of mode-locked lasers for combining a plurality of optical combs when generated by the plurality of mode-locked lasers.

  • Patent number: 8625101
Abstract: There is provided a method for referencing and correcting the beating spectrum generated by the interference of the components of a frequency comb source. The proposed method allows monitoring of variations of a mapping between the source and the beating replica. This can then be used to compensate small variations of the source in Fourier transform spectroscopy or in any other interferometry application in order to overcome the accuracy and measurement time limitations of the prior art. Constraints on source stability are consequently reduced.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 31, 2013
Date of Patent: January 7, 2014
    Assignee: Université Laval
Inventors: Philippe Giaccari, Pierre Tremblay, Philippe Saucier, Jérôme Genest, Jean-Daniel Deschênes
