  • Patent number: 9945010
Abstract: An extruded product made of an alloy containing aluminum comprising 4.2 wt % to 4.8 wt % of Cu, 0.9 wt % to 1.1 wt % of Li, 0.15 wt % to 0.25 wt % of Ag, 0.2 wt % to 0.6 wt % of Mg, 0.07 wt % to 0.15 wt % of Zr, 0.2 wt % to 0.6 wt % of Mn, 0.01 wt % to 0.15 wt % of Ti, a quantity of Zn less than 0.2 wt %, a quantity of Fe and Si less than or equal to 0.1 wt % each, and unavoidable impurities with a content less than or equal to 0.05 wt % each and 0.15 wt % in total is disclosed. The profiles according to the invention are particularly useful as fuselage stiffeners or stringers, circumferential frames, wing stiffeners, floor beams or profiles, or seat tracks, notably owing to their improved properties in relation to those of known products, in particular in terms of energy absorption during an impact, static mechanical strength and corrosion resistance properties and their low density.

  • Publication number: 20100200205
Abstract: An extruded product, particularly a drawn tube made from an alloy of the 6XXX series with the following composition, in weight %: Mg: 0.4-0.7, Si: 0.4-0.7, Fe: 0.1-0.3, Zn: 0.16-0.3, Ti: 0.12-0.3, Mn<0.10, Cu<0.05, Cr<0.05, Ni<0.05. others<0.05 each and <0.15 in total, remainder being aluminum, with the ratio Si/Mg between 0.9 and 1.3. The tubes are advantageously used for cabin air-conditioning systems in motor vehicles using CO2 as refrigerant gas. In such systems, the product offers an advantageous combination of good mechanical properties at operating temperatures and high resistance to perforating corrosion necessary for extended operating life without leaks.

  • Publication number: 20100190027
Abstract: An extruded product, in particular a tube, made of alloy composed as follows (% by weight): Si<0.30, Fe:<0.30, Cu<0.05, Mn: 0.5?1.2, Mg 0.5?1.0, Zn<0.20, Cr: 0.10?0.30, Ti<0.05, Zr<0.05, Ni<0.05, others<0.05 each and<0.15 total, the remainder aluminum. The invention is further directed to a manufacturing process for tubes extruded from this composition including the steps of casting a billet, optionally homogenizing this billet, extruding a tube, drawing this tube in one or more passes, and continuously annealing at a temperature ranging between 350 and 500° C. with a rise in temperature of less than 10 seconds. The tubes according to the invention are advantageously used for air-conditioning systems for the passenger compartment of motor vehicles using CO2 as a refrigerating gas.
