  • Publication number: 20250244832
Abstract: A portable information handling system couples a flexible display film to a housing lid portion and across a hinge to a housing main portion where the flexible display film couples to a timing controller under a mechanical keyboard coupled to the housing main portion. A touch function row presented at the flexible display film between the hinge and mechanical keyboard accepts function key inputs. Mechanical keys coupled in a row over the flexible display film accept input as depressions detected by a touch detection surface of the flexible display film, switches disposed under the flexible display film or a membrane board disposed over the flexible display film.

  • Publication number: 20250244849
Abstract: A portable information handling system palm rest adjacent a mechanical keyboard includes a touch detection surface to accept end user touches as inputs to the information handling system and a force detection sensor to detect pressure associated with the touches. Logic executing on a processing resource compares touch areas with associated pressures to differentiate intentional inputs from unintentional inputs, such as a palm resting on the palm rest. An active area for detection touches, detecting force and outputting haptic feedback is defined at a user interface presented by a main display of the information handling system and/or a secondary display in the palm rest.

  • Publication number: 20250216222
Abstract: System and techniques to verify sensor data are described herein. When sensor data is received, the sensor data is recorded into a data store and a trust score is generated for at least a portion of the sensor data. The trust score is based on several factors including a measure of agreement between the sensor data and other sensor data of a scene. The trust score may then be used to measure the veracity of claims supported by the sensor data.

  • Publication number: 20250117050
Abstract: An information handling system hinge has a modular and selectively separable core that couples to hinge mounts in an interchangeable manner so that core selection defines hinge characteristics, such as torque, detent orientation and stop orientation. A standardized mount accepts cores with different rotational characteristics for streamlined manufacture of information handling systems and improved reuse and recycling of hinge components. A stop included with the hinge limits hinge rotation to a defined orientation, such as 135 degrees, and is released by engagement with a tool form exterior the housing to allow rotation past the defined orientation and thereby release a display from the housing.

  • Patent number: 12271952
Abstract: A method of training and using a machine learning model that controls for consideration of undesired factors which might otherwise be considered by the trained model during its subsequent analyses of new data. For example, the model may be a neural network trained on a set of training images to evaluate an insurance applicant based upon an image or audio data of the insurance applicant as part of an underwriting process to determine an appropriate life or health insurance premium. The model is trained to probabilistically correlate an aspect of the applicant's appearance with a personal and/or health-related characteristic. Any undesired factors, such as age, sex, ethnicity, and/or race, are identified for exclusion. The trained model receives the image (e.g., a “selfie”) of the insurance applicant, analyzes the image without considering the identified undesired factors, and suggests the appropriate insurance premium based only on the remaining desired factors.
