  • Patent number: 11224932
Abstract: Aspects of this disclosure relate to a welding system that is configured to execute opposed, step, and parallel gap resistance spot welds (RSW) and associated methods. The system may be configured to switch bases to switch between an opposed weld configuration, a step weld configuration, and a parallel gap configuration. The system may include an accelerometer that is secured to the weld head adjacent one of the electrodes. The system may use the accelerometer to determine whether or not an RSW was defective. Acceleration data may indicate a defective weld when it includes acceleration data that is outside of a threshold range of acceptable acceleration data.

  • Publication number: 20210341190
Abstract: Purge systems for heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVACR) circuits in chillers can use adsorbent and/or membranes to separate refrigerant from non-condensable gases, allowing the non-condensables to be exhausted while the working fluid can be recovered and returned to the HVACR circuit. The purge systems can include one or more separation chambers including either an adsorbent material or a selectively permeable membrane. The selectively permeable membrane can be solubility-based for its selectivity. Optionally, a pusher pump can be upstream of the separation chambers to pressurize the purge gas through the purge system, including in the separation chamber. The purge system can be controlled using a model correlating pressure differentials in the purge system with purge gas conditions such as non-condensable and working fluid concentrations.

  • Publication number: 20210148531
Abstract: An example joiner system for joining a first section and a second section of a fixture includes a joiner bracket that has formed therein a depressed ramp region. A joiner fastener, such as a screw, may engage against the angled walls of the joiner bracket ramp, to translate the vertical movement of the screw into a horizontal, longitudinal movement of the joiner bracket. The joiner bracket may be rigidly coupled to one section of a light fixture assembly, such that engaging the screw ramp with a fastener that extends through another section of the light fixture causes the two fixture sections to move toward each other. As vertical movement of a fastener produces horizontal movement of the joiner bracket, the joiner fastener or set screw may extend outside of the light fixture assembly, so as to be readily accessible by a technician.

  • Publication number: 20210127729
Abstract: A method and apparatus for changing all or part of the skinsheet of a rotary drum blancher/cooler from being clean in place totally removable is disclosed. The drum includes the skinsheet (in sections) with a plurality of clamps and catches. Each catch is comprised of two catches—a clean in place catch and a totally removable catch. Each clamp is attached to a section and has an clamping position and a release position, and includes a bail. When a clamp is in the clamping position and its bail is in either the clean in place catch or the totally removable catch of a corresponding catch on an adjacent second section, the catch and clamp hold the adjacent sections together to form a part of the drum. When the clamp is in the release position and the bail is in the clean in place catch of the adjacent section, the clamp and clean in place catch allow adjacent sections to separate, but do not allow them to be removed.
