Abstract: Systems and methods for in-band remote management of a network asset are disclosed. Embodiments include a router, configured to provide Network Address Translation (NAT) to a private network. Communications originating outside the private network are controlled by the router. At least one network server asset is in communication with the private network and configured to run a Secure Socket Shell (SSH) protocol. The network server asset and the router initiate an SSH tunnel with remote port mapping to enable communication with another network asset.

Abstract: The present invention includes an image forming system and method of operating an image forming system. According to one aspect, the present invention provides an image forming system including an accessory device including a processor configured to control at least one operation of the accessory device; an image forming device coupled with the accessory device and including a storage device; and wherein the storage device of the image forming device is configured to store operational data useable by the accessory device, and the image forming device is configured to output the operational data and the accessory device is configured to receive the operational data, and the processor is configured to control the at least one operation of the accessory device responsive to the operational data.

The processor is configured to deliver the first two page sides of the original document to the printer for printing prior to the scanning of all subsequent pages of the original document.

Abstract: A method for dynamically synchronizing configuration information between a printer and an attached accessory. In one embodiment, the printer firmware creates a configuration change object that is immediately incremented any time a configuration parameter is changed. The accessory periodically queries the printer to determine if the configuration change object has been incremented, and, if so, the accessory re-reads and stores the new printer configuration along with the new configuration change object. In a second embodiment, the printer sends out a notice to the accessory that the printer configuration has changed immediately after the change is made, rather than accessory periodically asking the printer if the configuration has changed.
