  • Publication number: 20160328679
Abstract: A system for managing documents at an electronic data repository includes an electronic data repository that is accessed by a plurality of parties that are remote from a repository and from each other and that have a roll in a transaction. A computer program receives a document from a first remote party and stores the received document in the repository. The computer program permits one or more of the parties access to the document and prohibits all of the parties from modifying and deleting the document from the repository while any second remote party has access to the document.

  • Patent number: 8020605
Abstract: A steel slab caster having a mold with movable opposing mold faces, and methods of using the steel slab caster for casting steel slabs. The movable opposing mold faces may be laterally positioned with respect to each other in a predefined configuration. Molten steel may be introduced into the mold of the slab caster. The forces exerted by the molten metal on at least one of the opposing mold faces and/or the lateral positions of the opposing mold faces may be monitored during casting at locations on at least one of the movable mold faces. The position of the monitored mold face may be controlled during casting responsive to the monitored forces and/or monitored position.

  • Patent number: 8009307
Abstract: A system and method for detecting interruptions that occur during the process of sending images of a set of source pages via facsimile transmission and determining that two separate transmissions are associated with each other. An initial fax transmission is received, and its interruption is automatically determined. The initial transmission is automatically matched with a subsequent transmission. A method for receiving one or more documents transmitted from a user via facsimile transmission which identifies and corrects an error in the document(s) received includes receiving one or more document via facsimile transmission and identifying the existence of any of a predetermined set of errors in the transmission. The identified errors are corrected through subsequent transmissions and/or manual user intervention in response to a logical set of predetermined options.

  • Patent number: 7146367
Abstract: A system for managing data items at an electronic data repository with respect to a plurality of parties includes an electronic data repository and a computer processor programmed to receive data items from parties remote from the repository and from each other. The program stores the received data items in the repository. It provides each remote party access only to those data items within one or more data item sets corresponding to the remote party. The program prohibits any remote party from modifying any data item in the repository, and from deleting any data item from the repository, while the data item is part of a data item set of another remote party. A first remote party may access data items in a set corresponding to a second remote party, responsively to the second remote party.

  • Publication number: 20050182282
Abstract: A method of making a higher olefin product from a C4+ fraction separated from the hydrocarbon product produced by an oxygenate to olefin reaction unit. The C4+ fraction primarily contains butenes which may be directed to a higher olefin reaction unit without removing isobutenes, butanes, and/or butadiene. The C4+ fraction is particularly well suited for the production of higher olefins because of its high olefin content, low branching number, and low contaminent levels. The invention is also directed to an olefin product composition that is produced by contacting the C4+ fraction with an oligomerization catalyst. The olefin composition is characterized by a relatively high octene content, and octene with a branching number less than 1.4.

  • Patent number: 5813475
Abstract: An agricultural sweep has a main body with a cutting edge including a tip and winged portions extending away from the tip. The tip and winged portions have hardfacing material on them. In the improvement, the width of the hardfacing material on the tip is greater than the width of the hardfacing material on the winged portions, thereby conforming the location of hardfacing material to a soil pressure gradient along the cutting edge. A new method for applying a hardfacing material to an agricultural sweep includes the steps of (a) determining a face pressure gradient resulting from soil passing across the face and applying hardfacing material to those portions of the face at which the gradient exceeds a predetermined value.

  • Patent number: 4812740
Abstract: A detector for sensing the electrical conductivity of planar surfaces, such as glass panels having an electrical conductive, low emissivity coating on one side thereon, includes a housing carrying a battery and an LED, and a pair of spaced apart contact elements electrically coupled to the battery and LED. Structure is provided for rigidly connecting the pair of contact elements to a outer wall of the housing and for supporting an outer portion of the contact elements a fixed distance away from the housing for enabling the outer portions of both of the contact elements to directly and simultaneously engage the planar glass coating as soon as the housing is shifted to a position adjacent the glass.
