  • Publication number: 20080014090
Abstract: A winglet includes a vertical member and a mounting member. The mounting member is configured to facilitate the mounting of the winglet to the tip of a fan blade. The vertical member is configured to extend perpendicularly relative the tip of a fan blade. A cuff extends from the vertical member to substantially cover at least a portion of the interface between the end of a fan blade and the vertical member. Adding winglets to fan blades may improve the aerodynamics of the fan blades, and thereby increase efficiencies of a fan.

  • Publication number: 20070180784
Abstract: A universal post top cap for street signs and traffic signs. The cap has a threaded central opening that allows threaded bar stock of different lengths to be inserted into the opening and to be locked into position by a threaded locking nut. Thus allowing the cap to be used interchangeably for different signs.

  • Publication number: 20060258360
Abstract: Realtime or near realtime data is provided by a reporting service to a data aggregator. The data aggregator provides the aggregated data to a network operations center. The aggregated data may be indexed. A mobile device used by a user provides identification information to the network operations center. Such identification information includes location information. The network operation center correlates the identification information with the aggregated data and transmits correlated data to the user via the mobile device such that the user has realtime or near realtime data.

  • Publication number: 20060226097
Abstract: The lawn/garden tool rack is a storage unit that is especially adapted for the storage of long-handled lawn and/or garden tools, such as rakes, shovels, hoes, brooms, etc. The unit is fabricated from tubular members, including open-end vertical tubular members. The vertical tubular members receive the tools' handles. The vertical tubular members are arranged in a grid-like pattern so that the tools can be stored in an orderly array.

  • Publication number: 20060140756
Abstract: A zero running clearance system for gas turbine engines includes a gas turbine engine compressor having one or more first rotor assemblies and one or more first stator assemblies disposed adjacent the one or more first rotor assemblies; a gas turbine engine turbine having one or more second rotor assemblies and one or more second stator assemblies disposed adjacent the one or more second rotor assemblies; one or more shroud segments having blade seal surfaces disposed radially outside of the tips of blades of both the first and second rotor assemblies and a clearance distance extending between the blade tips and blade seal surfaces; and, an actuator selectively operable to axially move the first and said second rotor assemblies to alter the clearance distance.

  • Publication number: 20060071910
Abstract: Systems and methods are described that enable handwriting into a data-entry field on a screen without independently selecting that data-entry field. These systems and methods can also provide a handwriting guide geographically associated with a data-entry field into which a user is intending to write that permits substantially all of a computing device's screen to be viewed.

  • Publication number: 20060032728
Abstract: An apparatus automatically lifts a vehicle from a continuously moving first convevor such as an overhead or a side lift vehicle assembly line conveyor carrier so that the vehicle can be stabilized for assembly processes or can be unloaded from the assembly line conveyor. The apparatus generally consists of a lift shuttle conveyed along guide rails positioned below the vehicle assembly conveyor system and with a lifting mechanism extending upwardly from the lift shuttle. The lifting mechanism rises to engage, stabilize and lift the vehicle from the overhead carrier. Various elevations can be obtained with the lifts to accommodate various processes and product requirements. After traveling along the lift shuttle conveyor, the vertical lifts lower the vehicle to either place the vehicle back on the overhead conveyor carrier or place the vehicle on a second conveyor or such as a floor conveyor where it is moved to further assembly operations or moved to a staging area.

  • Publication number: 20050082132
Abstract: A carrying case for storing and transporting various items. The carrying case is especially useful as a flight bag. The carrying case includes an organizing flap hinged to the carrying case, and one or more organizing pockets or internal flaps that are hinged to the organizing flap. The organizing pockets can thus be opened and rotated like pages of a book for convenient storage of particular items or papers. The organizing pockets may be sized to hold Sectional Aeronautical Charts published by the Federal Aviation Administration for use by aircraft pilots. The rotatable organizing pockets are easily accessible to pilots to allow a pilot to direct more of his or her attention to piloting an aircraft and less time fumbling through files or pockets to locate maps and papers.
